"I'm sure if he does, his thoughts are probably more about getting rid of me right now, heh. If he ever got rid of you or if you ever disappeared, I don't think Pen would last too long. No offense to him, but his attitude would get him in trouble and he wouldn't be able to hide behind you when he didn't feel like fighting or starting trouble. That and he'd have to get used to actually sleeping and stuff probably. Anyway, yeah it might be best to head back a little at least. Up to you though, you're the leader right now, heh." He hoped he hadn't really bothered Pension, or Pen with anything he said.

Pension flew to the left now as he listened to the boy speak. He was right about what his darker half was thinking. It was not really all that hard to figure out what pen was thinking though. He was almost always thinking of a way to try to harm others who were in his path. The only time he was not thinking that was when he was preoccupied with another matter. “ you better tell your friend to shut the hell up before I end his stupid existence. No one is allowed to talk about me with out my permission. After all this time you should know this.” pen hissed darkly in pensions mind. Sometimes pen got mad over nothing at all. Pension just told his other side to calm down and relax. He then focused his attention on the boy. “ yeah that is pretty much what he is ranting about right now. You mad him pretty mad right then. But I have to agree with you. Then again I am not sure if I would know how to act myself if he was not around. Heh I am the leader eh? Well I say that we should go back so that we do not have to walk in the dark.’ he said. That was not the true reason though. He was afraid that pen might try to attack the boy considering how mad he was. And he wanted then to be as close to the school as possible in case he did .

"Sounds good to me. Lead the way, and when you land be sure to give me plenty of space, heheh, don't want to crash into you." He figured Pen would be mad at him, and he figured the best way to cut back on that anger was to insult himself a little again and hope it got the darker half smiling or laughing. Maybe not out loud but at least to himself, and that'd definitely be a good thing to have happening before they got back on solid ground. The gryphon wasn't in the mood to have to fight Pen and if he was still upset when they got down from the sky he'd probably try to take control before anything else happened. Not good for Aubri if he did either, landing was one of the few times he'd consider himself really vulnerable.

Pension smiled to the boy. He heard him laugh as he insulted himself again. Humm maybe he knew pen was upset. Still he did not see a point in constantly insulting himself. Maybe he just did not understand it himself though. He could feel pen stirring now. It seemed that the boy had made him laugh slightly. But it was only because pen thought it would be funny if the boy crashed. “ okay . Heh yeah that would hurt both of us.” he said with a smiled. Then found a large clearing in the woods. So he spread out his wing and started to go down. This was the hard part for him. Mostly because of the fact that his tail was always in the way. He got closer to the ground he could feel his feathers hit the ground. As he when to put his feet down he slid forward and caught his shoe on the ground. That made him put his hand forward so that he would not break his foot. That made hum hurt his sore wrist more then it already was. Ouch that was not the best landing in the world. He then looked up see how the boy was doing.

Aubri was tempted to make a sort of cannonball landing just to get Pen to laugh more, but he also knew how much that would actually hurt. Instead he managed to come down, touch ground, hop, almost skip right into a tree, shouldering it and throwing himself back in the right direction. Ah... there, bit of a bruise on the shoulder but nothing too bad. "Phew, one of my better landings I think. You alright there? Almost looked like you had a bit of a stumble." Which could have been intentional or it could have been painful, the gryphon would have watched but he had to focus on his own landing a little too much to pay attention to all of Pension's.

Pension frowned as he watched the boy land. He noticed the way that he lamed and had to wonder why he did that. Of course that made pen say that he was nothing more then a clumsy oaf. Then pen started to cackle making pension think that pen had when mad. Really though that would not surprise him. He was almost certain pen had lost his mind long ago. He had to worry if they boy was hurt from bumping in to the tree. Because his landing had hurt him that was for sure. But not wanting to worry his friend he chose to brush it off “ yeah it looked better then mine. Yeah I just hit my sore wrist . I caught my foot on my tail feathers I think “ he said hiding the fact that his wrist was hurting him. Pension was tough he would make it. Though if the boy thought he did it on purpose he was mistaken. Pension was not the kind who did things to hurt himself.

"You sure you're ok? I know Pen isn't exactly a fan of doctors but you could still get something to wrap your wrist up a little if you want. Don't have to let them do anything, just get the bandages and whatever else you might need." That'd probably get Pen mad even if it was a legitimate suggestion. They didn't have to see a doctor and let him do any treatment just to grab some bandages and maybe a few things for a splint, could get them at just about any place with a pharmacy too but that'd be heading in the opposite direction of school. "Hey, if your tailfeathers are that much of a problem for landing, just swish them back a bit before you're ready to land, see if it helps. Worth a try isn't it? Not that I speak from any great measure of experience."

Pension gave a slight smile to the boy when he asked if he was sure that he was okay. He then herd pen saying that he had better tell the boy that he was alright. He just frowned slightly. He could not lie to the boy. After all he was trying to be kind to him. Of course that would mean that he would have to hear pen grumbling and grouching . Then again he always had to hear pen complain. “ well that might not be a bad idea. Yeah he defiantly hates doctors. Then again pen hate everyone who dose not agree with him.” pension said. He now was looking at his wrist. He found that it really pained him to try and move it. That made him kind of wonder if he had broken it or something. Oh well if he did he was sure that it would heal in time. It was not like pen was going to let the fix him anyhow. Indeed pen could be a real burden at times. He now head the boy give him a suggestion on how to land better. “ well most of the time they do not get in the way. But that could help for when they do. Yeah I will try it . Thank you.” he said with a smile. He could hear pen complaining about how stupid he was for letting the boy help him.

"Heh, well I'd be able to give Pen a few suggestions on how to look at things but he'd probably say I'm stupid or just stubbornly refuse them because he didn't think of it himself. Still, if someone's doing you a favor or helping you when you ask, he can always look at it like he gave someone an order and they followed it. Might help him feel better about a few little things, or might not. We'll stop by the hospital wing, just grab some bandages or something, see how it feels tomorrow. If it's still pretty bad then maybe the headmaster can help, he's not exactly a doctor but I hear he knows how to fix up just about anything when he has to." That always did strike Aubri as a good idea. The headmaster was in charge of the whole school, if someone got hurt it'd definitely be a good impression if he took care of it personally, and if there were ever a problem with the hospital wing or its staff at least the school wouldn't be helpless.

Pension kind of smiled at the boy as he spoke. There were a lot of people who blamed pension for what pen did. They always told him that he could controlled pen if he wanted to. He knew better then that though. Pen was not something that he could force to go away. Pen was a part of him. The part of him that held all of the hatred he had for those who had left him to die. Pension was glad that the boy seemed to understand that he could not control pen. In fact the boy seemed to want to befriend pen. That just confused his darker half to no end. But pen would force the boy to understand that he was no ones friend . Pension felt pen stir slightly as those thought when threw his mind “ just get some bandages for us. We do not need nothing more .” growled pen. Pension just kind of ignored pen and said to the boy “ yeah pen dose not .really like advise unless he thinks of it first. Heh yeah he could if he wanted to. He just dose not want to do anything that makes it easy on me. Alright that sounds good. Oh really well I think it will be alright. Like I said pen wont let no one help unless he wants them to.” pension said. He was not aware that the headmaster did things like that. But then again pension tried to stay away from those like him so that pen would not make him appear to be crazy.

"Yeah, but even he has to admit that if you're injured it's better to recover from it as soon as possible. Even if he doesn't want to say something hurts, or that it could slow him down in a fight, it's the truth. Always have a better chance when you're at your best and as long as you don't advertise the injury it's ok. Like taping up your wrist, could do it to the other one and it'd seem a little less obvious. Or tape it around your fingers like a boxer or something. Heck, then it might even help if someone looks at the bandages and thinks you're tougher." Of course the darker side would want to deny everything he just said, at least as long as he was around. If anyone ever did come up with a good or useful idea Pen was the kind that'd dismiss it until the person was gone and then act on it as quickly as possible, pretending he thought of it himself.

Pension listened to the boy with a slight smile. What the boy said was true. But pen was not always the smartest bird around. He was the kind who though that he could crush any problem in his path. To him thinking about something or getting help of any kind was admitting defeat. And that was something pen would never do. He was not able to be beaten by anyone for he was unbeatable. That was why I angered him that the boy beat him once. Of course he had gotten hurt so in his mind it did not really count as a win.” yeah he should. He really dose not wish to do anything that I wish to do though.heh yeah maybe that would shut him up for a while.” pension said with a slight smile. He no longer felt pen stirring. That meant that he was thinking. That could be a good thing though. More then likely it was not. Pen was stubborn it was true. But no matter what you may think he was anything but stupid.

The gryphon highly doubted that. It was likely the only time Pen would ever really "shut up" in a proper sense of the term would be if he found nothing in the world to be a challenge anymore. If he could beat absolutely everything he might get bored enough to stay silent, just spending his time working on figuring out what he could possibly do next to show himself up again. Aubri didn't voice this thought though, instead he started walking toward the school a little quicker and hoped Pen wasn't waiting for a chance to try and strangle him or something. He knew Pension wouldn't allow anything if he could help it but Aubri really didn't want to have to be the one that caused them to fight more. Something like sparing a life would definitely be a reason for Pen to stay mad for a long time at his better half too.

Pension noticed that the boy had gotten quiet. If he was worried about making pen mat he really should nor have been. Pen was always finding something to yell at his other half for. Right now though even pen was not going to do anything to the boy. Atleast not while he was hurt. Pen knew his limets even if he did constantly test them, he still had them. He knew that those who were bigger then he could harm him. It was just that pen never admitted defeat . “ you know we would not be in this mess if you were not so nice . Right now we could be doing something a lot more fun then walking threw the woods because you have a little owie on you hand.” snarled pen as they walked faster to keep up with the boy. Pension now had enough of pen “ well we would not be in trouble all the time if you were not around. You know I wish you would just go away.” he said with a frown. Pen just laughed and told him he could not live with out him around to protect him. Pension knew better though. He lived ten years with out pen . He could certainly do so again,

"So Pen doesn't like doctors right? Have you learned how to handle your own injuries then? Like broken bones, cuts, sprains, all that? Or is it more of a suffer through and wait for your body to fix it on its own?" Aubri thought it a pretty fair question considering they were heading to the hospital wing just to grab some bandages. If Pen and Pension didn't know how to tape up the injury Aubri could do it, maybe show them how, but he wouldn't be able to help much beyond that. If he ever got seriously hurt like stabbed or a broken bone, and he had a feeling that he might end up the only friend Pen would let Pension trust to take care of something like that. Which he'd actually consider a good thing, being so trusted, but it'd be kind of bad too if it turned out he couldn't help when he was needed.
