Pension smiled at the boy words. He did not take the boy for the kind who did tricks and things like that. Then again just by looking at him he would not take the boy for the kind to do much of anything. Of course he would be wrong to think that. He never really did any tricks due to how long his tail feathers were. He was always afraid that they would get tangled up when he twisted and turned.” no I really have not. I always worry about my tail feather getting tangle up with my feet. I would like to learn some of those tricks though.” he said with a smile. He was being truthful for the moment. He did not like to do things that could get him hurt. In his mind pen did enough of that for him. He now turned so that he could fly in a slighter path. He did not want to go off to the left. He was having fun though. That was more then he could say for his other half who of course was now complaining about the fact that he was still flying.

Now that he thought about it that could be quite a problem. It could be kind of humorous to watch but definitely not fun if it was happening to you. "Guess that's a good reason to avoid any of the fancy flying. Wish I could learn some of those tricks too, I know one or two and that's it, can't even do them very well. Least I don't have to worry too much about my tail getting caught up though, but if it did good thing there's help nearby right?" Wouldn't be easy to fly over to someone and do much about something like that but it was better than just struggling, falling, and hitting the ground because of it right?

Pension smiled as he felt himself riding on the warm updrafts . he found that if he kept his wings tilted just right he would not have to flap them so much. he did feel pen start to stir again. sigh he just was not happy if pension was. It was not surprise to him that the air up here was warmer the air below. At any rate he was making sure to stay away from the boy so that they did not get tangled up together or anything like that. He certainly did not see the humor in getting tangled up and crashing to the ground. Maybe that was just him being overly serious or something though. “ yeah I think that it is. It would be kind of fun to do some of them. Oh yeah. That would be fun though. You should count yourself lucky that you do not have long feathers like I do. Heh yeah that is right.” he said with a smile. If his friend ever needed help he would be right there to help.

"If you get tired or bored of flying just let me know. When I'm up here I could stay up all day as long as my wings hold out, heh. Guess it also depends what Pen's saying if anything." He imagined either the other half would be really enjoying the flight or really bored. Scenery didn't feel like something Pen liked but maybe the gryphon was wrong on that. Actually now that he thought about it if he did have trouble up here would Pen let Pension help? Or would he get in the way and slow things down so the gryphon fell to the ground regardless? No, Pension was probably strong enough to hold that sort of thing back and come to the rescue if he could.

Pension gave a smile to the boy now. He was having fun up here right now. He liked flying so as long as he did not have to hear his darker side grump constantly. He could now feel his other half stirring again.” you are really peptic. I mean what it is about this creature you like? I mean he dose not seemed to be overly spectacular . So why bother with him. Cause you know I could kill him up her pretty easy.” pen said softly to his other half. Pension just frowned upon hearing that. “ I just like him cause he is nice. Unlike you he cares about things other then himself. I do not think I would let you do that pe.” he retorted. That only made his darker half start to laugh.” you do not have a say if ever I want to attack him. You just have ti sit and watch.” he said darkly. Pension just pushed his other half awy for now. He then smiled to the boy and said” okay I will tell you. Yeah I could too. Pen always is complaint about something I do.” if pension could help the boy he would. Pen was strong but pension was the donate persona. Of course that would not stop his dark half from trying to cause trouble.

"Heh, at least that means he's paying attention so if anything ever really were wrong or out of place he'd make sure to bring it up. And not in the same obnoxious way he brings up all his other complaints probably, have to have some way that it'd be recognizable from the usual bad mood." That probably got annoying pretty quick but it was apparently unavoidable for Pension. Still as long as he was able to have fun he wasn't letting that darker half win out and totally crush his spirit or his personal life. That was one of the reasons Aubri liked him so much, even with that constant problem, the weight of a darker side pushing for control, Pension managed to keep his wits about him.

Pension gave a slight smirk now. What the boy said was true. His other half would watch out for danger. However that did not mean that he would avoid it. Heck most of the time pen just wanted to make life hard for his other side. Even now he heard pen snort at the boy statement, “ he dose not know me that well dose he?” he asked his lighter side. Pension just frowned and ignored his other side . Sometimes living with him could be a real pain. He now smiled to the boy and said. “ yeah I guess it dose. If figure if he see something really bad he would try to get me to let him come out and handle it.” he then just kind of smiled. Strangely despite all of pens fault pension still liked him almost like one would like their bother. Then again pen was just another part of him.. No matter what he did he would never be rid of pen so he had no choice but to let pen become a part of him. A black half that just wanted to make him suffer and be depressed. So far pension was able to control him. But this would never last long. One day pen would win and pension would give up. But for now he could handle him well. He had been living with pen for ten years now. It should not surprise the boy that he could handle him so well. Though most would have given up a long time ago. That is part of what made pension different. He never gave up on anything.

One of these days Pen would have to learn though. He couldn't always handle everything on his own. It was times like that when it wouldn't hurt to have someone he could count on for a bit of assistance. The gryphon knew as long as Pen was around he'd never really trust anyone, or want to be friends, but he could at the very least intentionally avoid getting on someone's bad side in case he ever needed to use them for help. Pension on the other hand was great, he knew all about friendship even if he didn't have many friends. He had a good reason not to intentionally drag people into his problems or into harm's way, Aubri was just one of the few who would willingly accept any risk associated with the darker half. "Heh, either that or he'd try to say it isn't worth his time and want you to just totally ignore it or avoid it. Though he'd probably find a tougher way of saying it."

Pension flapped his wings a little as a light breeze came threw. That was one of the challenges of flying. You had to watch out for the wind. Needless to say this severed to anger pen and make him start telling pension how he should fly. Pension was almost tempted to tell him to take over and fly himself. However he did not because he did not want pen to attack his friend. It was rather doubtful that pen would ever change his ways. Though such things could happen. Pen pretty well hated everyone. Though what the boy did not know was that in his own odd way pen did respect him to a point.” yeah that sounds about like pen. He likes to boss other around. Buy I can not grump to bad. At least he is not trying to come out right now.” pension said with a smile. Pension himself was just the opposite of pen. He loved life and wanted to make friends. However he also wanted to keep his dark half away from others. He was kind of thankful that the griffin seemed to understand and actually like him.

"That could be a bad thing if he did. I mean, even if it's only for a second can't the change be a bit shocking? Like a bit of a delayed reaction, so you wouldn't be flying for a moment and once you start falling it's pretty hard to stop." It was just a guess but he figured in the few times that he'd seen or noticed them changing it was probably awkward for the two. Aubri really wanted both to like him even if it wasn't very likely, but it'd make hanging out with either of them a lot easier. Yes, he wouldn't mind hanging out with just Pen for a while if that ever happened, or just Pension. Maybe the other one would be tired or something, but he didn't care which side, they were both good guys in their own ways.

Pension listened to the boy as he spoke. It amazed him that the boy was almost exactly right about how he felt when pen came out. When he switched it was almost like he could not move or think for a few seconds. Then the same happens to pen when he switches back. That is why hw stops and just kind of stare for a second when pen come around. Indeed it could be a real problem when they were flying around. But pen was smart and would never put himself or his other half in that kind of danger. That is not to say that he would not come out. But he would chose wisely when he did so. “ yeah it could be. Heh yeah most of the time it is a bit of a shock. I would think that he would have enough since not to do things like that though. Pen may be evil but he dose have some common sense when he wishes to use it.” pension said with a smile. He liked to think that he could have at least that much fate in his other side. But he could be holding out false hope.

"Heh, I'd certasinly hope so. He has his own kind of honor too, maybe not what everyone would call it but that's the best way I can think of. Keeps his word, just looks for a chance to break it without making it seem like he broke it." If that made any sense at all. This was kind of fun really, getting to discuss Pen as an individual without him interrupting them. He'd probably be sure to take some sort of revenge when they got back down to the ground, and speaking of which if they ran out of good updrafts he'd have to land soon. The gryphon didn't realize how long they'd been flying until he had to change direction slightly to keep up with Pension and one of the thermals.

Pension frowned slightly as he heard pen speak to him again. It seemed that he was not happy about the fact that they were talking about him. It angered him to have others talking about him behind his back. That was a result of constantly thinking that others wanted to get rid of him or try to make him change in some way. Pen was happy being evil and he was not going to let anyone take that from him. Pension just thought that pen was nuts. Perhaps this was true but he was never going to change. “ yeah . Humm I do not really think so kid. He dose not care about that sort of thing. He gets his pleasure from hurting others not from liking them.” he said with a smile. Indeed pen was now ranting about how he was going to get the boy when he was not looking. Of course pension just tried to ignore it as much as he could . pension now had to wonder if the boy was getting tired. Though he figured that if he was he would say something. Though to tell the truth pension would probably land pretty soon himself.

"Heh, never know, maybe he's got more secrets than he cares to show you." The gryphon smiled, looking down to the ground for a nice place to land eventually. Nothing right below them, maybe something a little further ahead. In any case they should probably stop drifting, they were starting to head further out from the school. "Shall we turn back now or go a little further? Don't want to be too far off from the school if we end up walking back right?" From this distance that'd be quite a pain really. Oh well, they still had time right? The sun was up, starting to drop toward the horizon but generally plenty of time before nightfall.

Pension kind of frowned at the boy statement. He did not think that pen could keep anything from him. They were sharing the same mind. That meant that what one thought the other automatically knew. At least he thought that they did anyhow. He could be wrong though . He just liked to think that he was not. “ maybe he dose. Heh I hope that they do not involve getting rid of me.” he said as he turned to the right. He was starting to think about a place to land as well. He did not want to get to far from the school. He did not have a problem with walking in the dark but he had the feeling that the boy did. “ I think we should go back. I mean I would not want to walk for half the night trying to get back. “ he said with a slight smile. He then pushed his glasses back on his face. Yeah the sun was still up and bright as ever. Sometime he hated his eyes being the way they were. Then again it did help him see better at night.
