"Works for me. Heh, well he doesn't have to like me, I'm pretty sure that's obvious already." Aubri followed Pension to a nice area for take-off and stretched his wings. He had a feeling that Pen kind of liked him, just didn't want to admit it to anyone, especially himself. It it wasn't "like" it was at least something close to respect from the darker side of Pension. "Ready whenever you are." He'd be right behind Pension and keep an eye out for any possible trouble. Come to think of it he'd never heard of any of these "problem" creatures flying around, maybe they couldn't... or they just didn't want to be seen by everyone?

Pension smiled at the boy statement. He knew his other half did not like anyone one or so it seemed. If he did he had an odd way of showing it ” you are right about that “ he said. He then smiled looking around now. Indeed this was the perfect place to take off from. There was plenty of room for either of then to take off with out bumping their wings together or anything like that. “okay then lets go.” he said with a smile. He the took a few steps away from the boy. Then he gave a big leap up in to the air. After flapping his wings a few times he was in the air. Well that was not so bad. He was actually surprised that he got up in the air that easy. He the looked down to make sure his friend was not having any trouble. The peafowl had never herd of any fly creatures attacking others. But one never knew what kind of danger lurked in these woods. Pension was just happy that nothing seemed to want to bother them at the moment.

Aubri was soon in the air behind Pension, though far less gracefully. He had to use his wings a lot more before the wind was helping enough, but now that he was up here it wasn't so bad. "Heh, feels pretty refreshing actually. Not that I'd want to do this all day but it's pretty fun." Now that they were up here and starting to get above the tree line nothing should be a problem. Good thing the wind was helping though, he was really out of shape or just really tired suddenly. Probably shouldn't have had the second drink earlier. He found it kind of hard to believe Pension didn't fly too much, he was certainly doing better and more graceful than the gryphon was.

Pension frowned as he waited for the boy to get up in the air. He was glad that he did not have too much trouble getting in the air . He did hope that he did not loose his glasses while flying up here. Oh well if he did lose them he could buy another pair. He frowned as he heard his dark half give a comment. “Well it looks like he was not too fat to get in the air after all.“ pen said with a smile. His lighter half just ignore the comment focusing on the boy statement. “ yeah I think it dose too. No I think that I would get tired after while” he said. Ahh pen was back to throwing insults at the boy. Sometimes pension wished that there was an off button for his other half. He flapped his wings a few more times looking at the ground. Hum the view was certainly prettier here.

Aubri was loving the view but he wondered if Pension was. Those glasses were pretty good, not only blocking out the sun but doing a fine job of actually staying with him so far. He was keeping an eye out though, if they dropped or fell he'd at least make an attempt to catch them before they could hit the ground or a tree, or get lost somewhere out of sight. He imagined that would make landing quite difficult for Pension too, but it wasn't that bad out. Enough clouds were still passing by to reduce some of the glare. Oh well, he was going to try and focus on the moment and enjoy it while it lasted instead of thinking about what could go wrong.

Pension smiled as he looked at the view of the land below. It was very pretty to look at. Though another thing now came to his mind. He remember why he did not fly in the air very often . Like most of his race is the fact that they have very long tail feathers that trailed along behind him. This made steering very hard for him to do. However he was not going to worry about that. He now looked back at the boy and said” know what I think the view is pretty up here then on the ground. “ he said with a smile. He was not one make statements about beauty that often. He was afraid that it would make him look girlish . He took his hand and pushed his glasses back on his face so that way they would not fly off. Pension was very sentient to the sunlight. So if he did lose glasses it would be hard to land. It had happened to him once when he was younger. That did not work out well for him But hopefully that would not happen. today

"Definitely. And you get to appreciate a lot of things all at once too." Aubri laughed and smiled as he looked down at everything. Even from this height he could still pick out a few little details here and there but overall it was like one of those fancy oil paint landscapes you'd see in an art gallery. Aubri made sure to give Pension enough space and kept an eye on him just in case something happened. And he needed to be sure that if his friend needed to make a sharp turn or anything that he'd have enough room to do it without any problems.

Pension smiled as he flew in the air. It was certainly something that he should do more often. and to think this was his darker sides idea. Maybe pen liked tofly as much as he did. or maybe he just wanted to cause trouble again. He had to flap his wings once in a while to keep from getting to close to the ground. He was pretty good at stay far enough from others so that they would not run in to him while flying. If they did though he had enough strength where he could usually recover his balance. “ yeah. I think that it is. I just wish I was not such a clumsy flyer where I could enjoy it more.” he said. He then heard pen grump about how he should be flying faster. Bah he could not do anything to make his other half happy. Oh well he was having fun and that was all that mattered to him right mow . He just hoped the boy found it fun as well.

"Clumsy? Not in the least! You're doing great Pension, nothing to complain about. It's a wonderful view up here, it's nice and relaxing to take a quick flight, and for all you say you're not so good or experienced you're doing better than me, heh." It was true. Aubri had to use his wings a lot more than his much lighter friend. Not that he would complain or mind, it was good exercise and he could keep it up for a while. Just his own weight was enough to counter part of the lift they were getting. "So why don't you fly too often? Just prefer something else or never have time for it?"

The peafowl had to smile when the boy said that he was doing a good job at flying. He was certainly not used to someone complementing him on things. But it was a feeling that he could get used to. To tell the truth the boy was not doing that bad. He had not crashed yet and he did not seem to be totally existed. “ you really think so. Well you are not doing bad yourself.” he said with a smile. Really he was more worried about the landing part. You see those long tail feathers of his liked to get caught on things . He then heard the boy next question. Indeed he did have a good excuse. .” well I just do not fly that much. I guess you could say that I do not have anyone to fly with. You know it is not really a good idea to fly alone.” he said . He did not think that it would be a good thing to fly alone. Humm but what about the boy? “ what about you? “ he asked with a smile.

"Well I try to get at least ten minutes in the air every other day or so. Doesn't always work out that way. Don't often mind taking those quick little trips alone either but you're right it is safer to have someone with you. Me, guess I just never really worry about how heavy my landing's gonna be, heh. Hahahah, figure someone's bound to come investigate the crater if I crash too bad." Again he had fun mocking himself. Pen seemed to like that, and Pension could get a laugh out of it too. "That and I try to fly in pretty safe areas near the school. Any time you want to take a quick flight though, just come get me and I'd be happy to join you."

Pension smiled at the boy as he spoke. he thought of how odd it was to think like he did. pension was a very serous type. he did not under stand alot of the joke most told. but he always laughed at them anyhow. He could see where it would be useful to fly more then just once in a while. He just did not do it that often for one reason or another. He had to smile when he heard the boy insult himself again. What was the point in doing that? Well he could assume that maybe he was doing it for fun. But it could not be good for your self esteem.” oh yeah that could work. I just do not like the idea of getting hurt out some place and having to go home. Yeah I guess that they would. Hehehe. You know even pen finds that funny.” he said with a smile. “ oh yeah I will keep that in mind then.’ he added with a smile.

"Heh, I thought he might. Yeah, if you got hurt when flying it could even be a really bad situation if you were far away from anyone that could help. I try not to let things like that happen, or even cross my mind if I don't have to. Good to know if we ever need someone to fly with we've got each other right?" Wow, he probably could have said that better. Pension was a great guy to hang around with once you got past Pen, especially if you could make both of them laugh at the same time. He didn't know Pension wasn't always sure why something was funny but as long as he got laughs he'd remain blissfully ignorant of that fact.

Pension gave a slight smile. He found that he had to keep tilting his wings so that he did not fly too far to the left. Other then that this was actually turning out to be quiet fun. He smiled when they boy said that it was good that they had each other. This was indeed true. However he did not trust that pen would allow them to be friends for very long. Maybe he was wrong though.” yeah I think it would. Really ? Well that is good. Yeah anytime you need something I will be able to help you.” he said with a smile. He meant those words as well. Pension was happy to have a friend. And for now pen seemed to be clam for now. He did not see nothing wrong with how the boy put his statement . But pen made the comment that it sounded a bit gay. Of course pension just ignored it for now. He was happy to be hanging around the boy and for now that was all that mattered to him.

"Hey, you ever practice any tricks or anything when you're flying? Like rolls, loops, stuff like that?" Of course the gryphon tried when he had really good weather for it and a nice updraft but he wasn't exactly the best. Basic flying was his strong point, anything fancy that he'd need to dodge or confuse someone chasing him in the air or aiming at him from the ground was hard. He really needed a good excuse to practice more but it sort of fell into that "don't fly alone" category. If he made a mistake it was likely going to cost him and he didn't want to be limping back to the school because of a failed stunt. So he figured it wouldn't hurt to ask Pension if he was any good at them.
