Pension smiled now as he watched the boy work on the fish. Pen was not very picky on who or what he picked on as long as they reacted with him. But pension was not all that mean. oh he would play with some one a joke with them but he would never do it to hurt then. Yeah I bet it is“: pension said with a smile. He did not think that the boy looked all that bad. Sure he was a little chubby but that did not mean much to the peafowl. To him it was not who you were on the outside but on the inside that counted. “ uhh well to tell you the truth I might be able to eat one maybe two.” pension said. He really did not eat much. Due to feeling depressed by his other half. But he knew he had to keep himself strong.

"Two smaller ones then." Normally the gryphon wouldn't even consider it but Pension looked like the kind of guy that didn't eat much and it sort of worried him. Maybe because honestly he ate far too much from time to time but still you have to keep your strength up. He imagined dealing with his other half would make that even more important. "Here ya go. Can just eat it right off the stick." Aubri handed over two small fish and demonstrated the easiest way to eat them with one of his own. He wondered what they'd do next, there were a lot of possibilities but he picked fishing so it should be up to Pension to decide their next direction.

Pension smiled in responses to what the boy said. If he knew that he was worried about him he would have told him not to worry about him. He did not really want to burden others with his problems. After all he did not see a point in having to complain about everything. . Maybe that was the fact that he never learned how to be compassionate due to his other side trying to frighten others away from them.. “ sound good““ he said to the first statement. He was sure to keep himself strong. Pen pretty well demeaned it . So to keep him happy he did. But if he did not have pen around he would not eat at all. “ thank you. It looks good. Humm really ? “ he asked with a smile. He watched the boy eat his first.. Indeed they would have to find something else to do. Maybe they could try to find some more interesting things here in the forest ? Or perhaps they could just wonder about some more.

Aubri had his fill of fish and smiled. It was a pretty good meal. "Always tastes better when you went through the effort of catching the food yourself. Least in my opinion it does. So, what's next?" Still plenty of time in the day, and plenty of things they could possibly do. But they'd better get out of this area soon just in case one of the bigger... problems... of the woods decided to come and investigate the smell of cooked fish. Of course he made sure the little fire he made was put out and couldn't spark again, looking toward Pension. What would he want to do now? Hopefully looking for the bigger creatures out here wasn't on his "to do" list.

Pension fished eating and smile slightly at the boy. He was not sure what he wanted to do now. He never had to make decisions because of his other half. However there was plenty they could do here though. Indeed it was a very nice meal. one did not find many boys who would actually cook or even knew how for that matter. He certainly did not. “ yeah it dose. Humm well we could explore a little bit more. Just away from here. I pretty well just do whatever anyone else dose.” he said with a smile. He the pushed his sunglasses back on his face. He was not all that hip on messing with things that could kill him. That sounded more like his other half. He smiled when he saw the boy look at him. So far this was turning out to be a pretty good day. And with some luck maybe pen would not bother him anymore.

"Sounds good to me. I'm not usually the leader type so I'm not exactly great at picking things to do. Walking around exploring's nice." He'd just have to keep an eye out for Pen and for any normal trouble they might encounter. Pen was the hard one to watch out for though, he could slip out at any time if he really felt like it and cause problems. At least with animals out here they could be predictable. One or two simple goals and little more than that.

Pension listened to the boy as he spoke. He could understand that the boy was not the leader type. He would pretty well go along with whatever someone else wanted to do without any problem. He was the laid back type who could do about anything and have fun doing it. He had to wonder how he ever had any fun though with pen, but some how he managed. probably because he was used to him. “ yeah alright. Well that sounds a lot like me. “ he said with a smile. He could feel his other side stirring around again. He was telling him that they should go and climb in trees or fly. The last suggestion was plausible but no offence to the boy but he did not think he could climb or fly that well. “ pen stop being that way to him.” pension mumbled to his other side. He then smiled to the boy trying to ignore pens constant insults.

Aubri laughed softly as he saw Pension's expression, his best guess being an inner conflict with Pen. "I'll take a wild guess that he's insulting me again? Heh, well I'm up for just about anything really." Actually he'd really enjoy a chance to fly right about now. He tried to "stretch his wings" at least once a day even if it was only for a quick two minute flight. While he didn't exactly stay in the world's greatest shape he figured if he ever got lazy enough to lose the strength to fly it was likely he'd never get it back. Just a bit of paranoia on his part since he remembered hearing about someone who had broken his wings several times and was now able to fly just fine. Still, he didn't want to end up in that kind of situation.

Pension just kind of smiled when he heard the boy laugh now. He knew that his friend could never understand how truly frustrating and demanding that his other half could be. His other side now just laughed. Saying to him. “ he only knows what you tell him my dear. Might I suggest you start allowing him to know just what I say. I mean that time I was not insulting him directly.” pens voice was soft and sweet while speaking to his other side. Pension just frowned and thought to his other half “ an insult is an insult no matter what pen.” . he then turned to his attention back to the boy . “ well not directly. Humm really. Well he said that we should fly ,climb trees or something like that. “ he said . He merely said that last part to shut his other side up. He could not fly really. Sure he could get off the ground but it took a lot of effort on his behalf . If the boy were to agree with pen it would not bother him that much. He just did not want to offend him was all.

"I guess that's what he wants to do then, but we're doing what YOU want to do. I'd be fine with flying or climbing though. Heh, sounds like a good bit of exercise." He was slowly starting to read the signs of Pen and Pension a little better. There was something else, probably the insult, that the good side didn't mention. Pen would never volunteer an idea without having some sort of catch to it. A "bet he can't keep up" or "he'd never last" sort of expression. It was kind of refreshing really, getting someone that wanted to egg you on and push you to challenge yourself in what Pen probably didn't realize could be a friendly manner. Pension was the part that made it friendly, even when there was an outright insult the gryphon could smile through it honestly.

Pension smiled at what the boy said. He took time to consider what he said before responding. Yeah a short flight could be fun if the peafowl could get himself off of the ground. He had been practicing . Mostly with pens constant grumping to push him on. That was the thing about pen . He never seemed to be happy with anything that his other half did. Right now though he had actually suggested something that pension could agree with. And he did not have to hurt anyone while he did it. “ well I mean it aren’t a bad idea. I just was not sure that …. You would want to is all. He yeah it would be good exercise I guess.” he said pausing as his other side stirred again. He did not know that pens insult could be viewed as helpful to the boy. His other half stirred again.” well I wonder what he is going to say. I must say if he agrees this will probably be..….” pension frowned when his other half stopped in mid sentence. He had to wonder what he was doing. then it hit him though he could not stop him from doing it. He the felt him take control only for a second.He then stared at the boy with a dark smile and said ” a really stupid move for you to make.” then he gave control back to his other half. Pension just frowned and kind of blinked. That was a surprised even for him. Pen though was now laughing in his mind as if he thought that was just the funniest thing ever. Pension just pushed his other half away and looked at the boy with a frown wondering if he knew witch on had made that statement.

"Sure, sounds great to me. It'll be nice to stretch my wings for a bit." Aubri heard the other comment and laughed. "Well maybe it is Pen but sometimes ya gotta do stupid things to learn. Er... that probably only made him laugh more didn't it? I mean if flying turns out to be a problem I bet I could still crash land in a more graceful manner than he could." Not that crashing was on his list of things to do today. No, he hadn't had that problem in years even if his landings were usually a bit heavy and not so elegant. All he really needed to do on any landing was avoid breaking anything though, that included bones in his body and whatever was nearby.

The peafowl quietly listened to the boy as he tried to ignore his darker side’s laughing. Apparently he found his comment funny even though he was not brave enough to stay out after he made the comment. Oh well that just made it to where his other side had some black mail on pen. Not that he would ever use it but it made a good threat. “ okay I think it is a good idea too. Heh yeah he still is laughing at you. He thinks it would be funny if you did crash. You know that is the first time he did something like that. Yeah I bet you could . Hopefully no one will crash to the ground .hehehehe” pension said with a slight frown. He then pushed his glasses back on his face. He was not all that worried about crashing himself. After all he was tough and could handle pain to a certain point. Yeah he could get off the ground today. If anything it would prove to his other side that he could do so.

"Wow, guess I can consider that sort of an honor, the first time he ever manages to just pop out like that to use an insult and it was me he chose to do it to. Any time you wanna take to the sky's fine by me. Do we have a direction to fly or just wherever the air currents happen to lead?" He knew a lot about flying even if he wasn't the greatest at it. Updrafts helped a lot, and if you weren't the kind to pump your wings constantly but preferred to glide... or had to... they were the easiest way to go up. Ride a thermal and gain altitude, then glide in any direction until you caught another. Or the other method, flap your wings almost nonstop and use your own brute force to get where you're going. He kind of pictured that as the "dragon" method and yet most of the dragons he'd met could avoid that.

Pension smiled at what the boy said. Indeed it could have been viewed as an honor of sorts. Really though he just did it to the boy because he was covariant . Pen never tried to pick his victim special. Sure he made sure that they were up to his standers but that was as far as he went on things like that. “ heh I guess you could. Of course that dose not make him very happy. Okay . Lets just go where the air takes us. It will make flying easier.” he said with a smile. He then smiled as he looked for a clear area to take off from. He could hear pen stating that the boy was not going to get away with making him mad yet again. But pension had to doubt that. Pen had servile opportunities to harm the boy yet he did not. That alone told him that pen had a certain respect for the boy. Even if that was just until he found a way to use that against the boy.
