The peafowl smiled to the griffin now. His other side usually liked darker things. he found beauty in things it tendered to clam him down . He would laugh when he saw some poor creature dyeing. In fact that was how he found that he had another side when he was younger . He had come across a cat that had died. When he saw this instead of being sad he felt the urge to laugh.” he yeah I like that idea. Heh maybe we will find something nice. I bet there is.” he said with a smile. He then pushed his glasses up on his face. This was going to be a good day . Even if pen was dark and scary at least he was clam for the moment . “okay lets go if you are ready.” he said keeping the smile on his face

"Yep, I'm ready. Let's keep wandering and see what we can find." They were bound to come across something interesting for Pen as well as for themselves. There could only be so many things Pension's dark side could honestly hate right? Sooner or later he had to enjoy something and in these woods there was a lot of ground to cover and a lot of strange things that led to a nice variety of sights. From the prettiest flowers to the darkest of caves and rotted out segments of woods there was more than they could see in a day too. Definitely needed to come back when they could have a guided tour with someone to show them the way safely to all the best places. Only question was what guide would want to put up with Pen?

Pension slowly walked along a path that was winding threw the woods. He was sure that they would find something around here. He took a deep breath smelling the fresh air. As he did this he felt his other half stir slightly. “oh can we be done with this?” snorted his other side. He just tried to ignore it for now. His other half did have a few things he liked. He like weapons for one thing. He also like to fight . Another thing he like was water though he would not tell anyone. When they were alone pen would con his other half in to going to the pool. If there was no one there he would spend hors swimming. Another thing he like was himself. Aside form those things pen was pretty indifferent to things unless they made him mad.” okay then. Know what even if we don’t find nothing at least we can say that we had a good walk.” pension said with a smile. they would have to come back one day. that would be a problem finding someone who could put up with his other half. For not everyone was like the griffin and understood his problem at least a little bit. Most though he was just blaming his other side for things that he did himself .of course that just was not true.

"Yeah, we can definitely do that. Much better than staying stuck in the school with nothing to do and a bunch of other people all acting so busy. How many of them get to say they saw anything really special today or that they got to feel free for a while? No worries, no troubles, just a nice walk through nature." And he did consider it all those things. And with good company too, Pension wasn't trying to press every opportunity to know more about him, wasn't trying to make the trip all about himself, it was about as nice as he could hope for. Sure there was Pen lurking around in a sense but the gryphon didn't worry about him. He'd proven himself once to the darker side of his friend and if necessary he'd do so again in a more realistic fashion. At least he hoped he would.

The peafowl listened to the boys words. What he said was very true. Most would rather just stay inside then go out and enjoy nature. The peafowl had learned to take others for who they seemed to be and nothing more. His life of being on the street had told him the fewer questions you asked the better it worked out for you. “ yeah sometimes you have to just go out and try something new. Heh that is what I did. Not many of them want to do things like this. Most of the time they just wanna party or make trouble. It is nice to relax and get away for a while.” he said. He was just happy to talk about random things with the griffin. After all you did not have to know everything about a person to be able to like them . If the boy knew how pension used to be he certainly would not want to hang around him. As far as his other side went it was not in the mood to fight the boy. One you beat pen once he tended to resort to sneak attacks. He had learned that if he gave no warning when he came out his other side could not stop him. Of course that was not easy task for him to do considering his other side usually knew what he was thinking anyhow. “ hehehe it seems that you try to forget about me . Well I want let that happen. You know he dose not care about you brother. Not like I do. Why don’t you just lose him.” his other half said softly to pension. Pension just frowned slightly “ because he is different from the others pen.” he responded back. his dark side mearly laughed and wispered in a sickenly sweet voice." that is what you think." pension just sighed and said " yeah it is." then tried to ingnore his other side. He trust the griffin right now. He just wished that his other side could understand that and stop trying to tell him what to do. Of course that would never happen.

"Not that there's anything wrong with electronics or a good book or anything but it's way better to go out and experience something instead of just reading about it or having some screen show it to you." The gryphon smiled, pausing for a moment as he saw a tiny little stream and got a little water for the flowers. He didn't really worry about much, and figured soon enough they'd be stumbling across something else interesting. There was a sort of feeling he was getting, like Pen was trying to be annoying or wanting to sneak out, but he didn't want to mention it in case he was wrong. Though he did kind of figure that if he were to hang out with Pension enough he'd probably start to know what the other side was thinking, when it was slipping out, or just being a pain. He actually kind of looked forward to those days.

Pension could agree with what aubri was saying . He liked electronics and things like that. It was just really hard for him to focus on anything for very long at a time. He walked with the boy as he spoke. He was happy that he was getting a chance to enjoy the scenery even if his other side was being a hand full. “ I can a gree with that. Everyone needs to get out once in a while.” he said, he watched the boy as he stopped by the stream to get some water. His other half wanted to shove the boy over into the water. Forthrightly he was not the one in control. Pension was pretty good at keeping his dark half a bay. But he was aware of the fact that his other side would come out . Some one had once told him that he should let his other side out once in a while. That was never a good idea though. For if he did that that made his other half want to be in control all of the time. Indeed once one got to know the peafowl they could tell when his other side was reacting to something. Rather it was him suddenly getting quiet or the tone of voice he used. You see pen often though that he was smarter then his other side. So he would talk using smatter terms just to prove this. The boy was right to think that his other half was up to something though. After all who could trust someone who hated anyone near him. pension frowned now when he heard something move. That instantly made his other side stir slightly as if ready to protect him. That was the good thing about pen. He made sure nother bothered them. He had to wonder what could be out there with them. Maybe it was just him . He kind of glanced at the boy to see if he had heard the sound or not.

Aubri's ears perked up when he heard the strange sound, looking around and trying to focus on where it came from. Even the softest noises could sometimes be misleading, the biggest predators were often the most careful about alerting prey after all. He took a few steps closer to Pension just in case they had to deal with some trouble, but much to his joy it wasn't going to be some giant monster. No, that beast was still sleeping a pretty good distance from where they were. A few more sounds in the bushes and he figured it was probably no bigger than a rabbit, but he could be wrong. "Doesn't sound too big. Least I don't think so. It's probably nothing." At least he could say that with relative confidence even if he didn't exactly feel that way. And if things did turn out to be bad Pen would probably come out again... and likely not give up on the idea of fighting after whatever came at them was gone.

Pension was listing to the sound carefully. He was not sure what it was. All he knew was that it could be dangerous. He had to wonder what would be out in this part of the forest. He glanced at the boy when he saw him walk closer to him. So it seemed that he had heard it as well. He watched carefully. He could feel pen stir as he waited for what ever it was to show its self. He looked at the boy as he spoke. He was glad that the boy could be sure that it was not too big. Now though he would have to see for his other half to clam down. Maybe it would come out. “ yeah it probably aint nothing. I do not think that nothing will wanna mess with us anyhow.” he said. Then he heard the sound of something moving away. From the sound of it what ever it was more afraid of them then they were of it. Pension felt his other calm down a bit. He knew that he was not going to go a way. No he would come out when he thought that he had the upper hand. Like he said before. He was not stupid.” well it sounded like that it left now. “ pension said with a slight smile.

"Yeah, nothing left to worry about. So might as well continue our walk, just preferably not in the direction that thing just ran, heh. So maybe more in that direction instead." Aubri smiled as he pointed, hoping they were both right that the animal left and also hoping he wasn't aiming them in the direction it had just taken. Good thing too, one less reason for Pen to have to come out. And he'd probably try to stay out if he did surface just so he could find a way to get at Aubri. Not that the gryphon really had anything against him, it was actually kind of cool to know someone like that. Pension always had someone ready to look out for him in a tight spot, even if Pen may have caused the tight spot from time to time.

The peafowl smiled. He was not really worried about the thing being some sort of animal. He was worried more about it some one. He had heard some stories about that after all. He tried to clear his mind of that thought though. “ yeah you is right. That looks like a good way to go.” pension said. He could still feel his other side stirring. He knew that he could not hold him at bay forever. He figured that whatever was out there with them though was gone by now. At least he hoped so. Call him paranoid but he did not like the idea of being watched by something or someone. Pension walked in the direction that the boy had pointed at. As he walked he took a deep breath. As he did so he got chocked and coughed a bit. He then kind of smiled to the boy. Right now he was happy and relaxed. And that was not common for him. Pen was a great protector this was true. But he had a bad habit of taking it to the extreme. That and he loved to fight with anyone who looked like they could be beaten.

The gryphon started walking, glad that nothing was apparently following them or staying in their general area. "Heh, guess that can count as something interesting happening on the walk even if we're not sure what it was." And they still had plenty of time to explore and get back to the school. Usually he heard the expression of time flying when you're having fun, but so far that hadn't been the case. It was fun, but it wasn't like they'd missed out on the whole day either. He was surprised Pen hadn't managed to slip out yet though, maybe Pension was working extra hard to keep him held back.

The peafowl gave a frown as he felt his other half stir. He knew that he was going have to let his other half out soon. He looked at the boy with a slight frown as he spoke. He too was glad that whatever it was had left. However right now the boy was still in a bit of danger. Or so it seemed. “ yeah I think it could.” he said half way distracted. He could feel his other side trying to push him away. He knew that he did not have time to argue with him this time. Apparently pen was done with hiding. He knew that his other side would never keep his word. His other half said that he wanted to talk. Pension knew that was not true. Suddenly he stopped and gave a dark hiss. It was low and unless the boy was really listening he may not have heard it. That was the only sign his dark half gave that he was out. Other then the fact that he now stopped and stared at the boy. He was not in the mood to say anything. No he was going to see how long it took for it dawn on the boy that pen was out now. That was just another of his darker halves little mind games .he now gave the boy an evil smile waiting for him to make the next move.

Ever since the sound Aubri had been half expecting Pen to show up. When he heard his friend stop for a moment, and barely caught the hissing sound, he had a pretty good guess what to expect. "Hello again Pen. A little disappointed you didn't get to come out and attack something earlier?" He almost wanted to antagonize him but he knew better. The gryphon half turned toward him and smiled, this time trying to look for any other possible tells that he was showing. The eyes seemed to be the only change, not even his posture was different. Probably a lot of practice on the darker half's part to blend in until he wanted to lash out at others.

Pen looked at the griffin with a dark smile. There were very few differences one could see. The ones that were most obvious were his eye and the way he spoke. he also walked with more confidence then his other half and his looks were darker then his other halves. indeed it would have been a bad mistake for the boy to bother him to much. Pen was very unpredictable and the slightest thing would often set him off . Really the fact that the boy spoke to him seemed to make him mad. “ hehehe took you that long to notice. You really are stupid aren’t you ? And who says I wont get to attack something anyway.” he said taking a step towards the griffin. Pen was not in the mood to play games with the boy this time. This time he would try to get rid of the little bother. Or at least make him think that. He had years to blend in with his other half. That worked to his advantage for the most part. after being near him for a while though you learned how to tell when he was around.
