"Yeah, not without a guide anyway. Which is a shame since most of the best scenery is probably in really deep. Oh well, we'll get to see it some other time. I'll work on finding out who those students are, see if one of them wants to give a tour or something." But for now he was quite impressed with what they were seeing and hearing. The gryphon took a nice deep breath, smiling. "Smells like a big flower bed somewhere nearby. Would love to see that." It was amazing what you could experience if you just opened your mind and your senses to the world around you. And if you didn't have anywhere to go or anything to do.

Pension looked at the scenery as the boy spoke. The boy was right about this place being pretty. He herd his dark half snort about how dumb it was to sit here and look at tress and flowers. He tried to just ignore him for now. He thought that it was pretty anyhow. Pension forced his other half out of his mind for now. He would just relax and be clam for now. He frowned when the boy said that he smelled flowers near by. He did not smell them. They would however be pretty to see. “ well I am sure they is something out here that is pretty. Yeah that would be nice to do one day.” he said. He was not certain if it would be a good idea to get another near his other half. But he would be willing to try anything for now.” well we could see if we could find them if you want to.” said pension. His dark half gave another bad comment about how dumb looking at stupid plants was.

"Don't see any reason why not. Shouldn't be too far off either, I think it's a little bit this way. And if not well it's not like we're really getting lost or anything." Aubri was being optimistic about his whole time with Pension. Pen really didn't bother him that much, even if he knew that dark side was there it was easy to ignore him when there was so much beauty all around. Maybe some of that beauty would rub off on him and calm the darker side down, or maybe he'd come out just as they got to the flower bed and want to trample everything.

The peafowl walked in the direction that the boy had indicated. He was not worried about getting lost. He was tiring to keep an eye on the little details of things that they were passing. Of course it was hard to do that when most everything looked the same. But the peafowl was pretty good when it came to his sense of direction. He took a breath of the crisp air as they made their way to the flower bed.” okay. heh lets go then. I do not think that we will get lost . After all we still have time to find a way out if we did. “he said. He thought that it might be early for flowers just yet. tghen again he was no nature nut. it was pretty but that was about all he could tell about it.he did like taking long walks though.Pension was not the kind who gave up easy. That was how he could deal with his darker side. Pretty things did not appeal much to pen though. He would rather destroy them then look at them. But if pension could help it he would try to keep his other side calm.

Aubri led the way he thought the smell came from. Of course if they had a guide along he would have been able to give perfectly reasonable explanations for the out of season flowers and probably information on a few hundred other little things. Why certain plants were at certain heights and why some clustered together, which side of the rocks and trees moss always grew on, all things Aubri probably should have known by now considering his hobbies and his best friend but hadn't quite picked up on yet. "Looks like I was right, there they are."

The peafowl walked behind the griffin as he led the way to the flower bed. As they got closer he to could smell their sent . They smell kind of fresh and sweet. Pension hoped that they would not make his allergies react though. His other half was starting to complain again though.” why is it that you have to look at a bunch of dumb plant. Really the only thing they are good for is smashing.” said his other half in his mind now
Pension gave a slight frown and retorted to his other half. “ because unlike you I can respect true beauty when I see it.” that just served to tick his other side off again. “ why don’t I just show you what my anger can do for your beauty.” he snorted back. Pension just shoved him form his mind again. As he did that he barely caught what the boy said.” oh yes we are here . They is pretty aren’t they.” he asked looking at the multi colored flowers that were all in a small group. It looked to him as if some one had planted all of them right there. Of course he was sure that they just grew that way.

Aubri's mind wandered to how Pension's darker side would react to him having a girlfriend, or boyfriend if that was what he wanted. Maybe it'd be a personality both of them liked, or maybe Pen would want to try and kill the possible lover. Then again he didn't imagine Pension would be looking for anyone for a while, not while Pen would do everything he could to stop it. "Very pretty. Wonder what they all are, like what kinds. I've never really considered flowers except for their looks. If it looks nice and smells nice it's fine by me. Still it'd be nice to know a name or two instead of calling them "that pretty blue flower" or something like that, heh."

Pension was looking at the flowers now. He could see that they were of several different colors .They were quiet pretty as well. And they smelled nice witch was a pulse considering that some of them could really stink. He was not sure what they were either though. It may come as shock to know that pen was actually a very romantic creature when he was in the mood. If he found a creature that he liked he would try and flirt with them. He was actually very good at doing that as well. The peafowl was a pretty open creature. As long as they loved him back he did not care what gender they were. The down side was that if they happened to upset pen they would be in trouble. So far though he had not found anyone . “ yeah I like them cause they is pretty. It would be kind of intrestin to find out what they is. Heh yeah I do not like to be around the ones that stink. Then again I have seen some pretty ones that stinked. Heh yeah that would be nice to know what they is called though.” he said with a smile. There were not many males around who were in to flowers and things like flowers. Most were in to sport and females and parties. They did not seem to want to take the time to enjoy the beauty that the world had to offer. The peafowl just was not like that. Sure he like sports and things but he was not the kind who wanted to be around them all of the time.

"Yeah, I've seen a few of those too. Wish I got their name so I never accidentally buy them by mistake though, heh. Bet even if he won't admit it your other side probably likes at least one flower. Wouldn't surprise me if he liked one of the bad smelling ones just to try and be different though." Were they always arguing or did they sometimes get along? Pen must at least slightly get along with his good side or else he'd want to be out all the time... or maybe that was the case and Pension was just able to keep him in check. "Wish I had something to carry a few of those in so I could take them back... and... wait a second." Aubri grinned as he chugged his drink and looked at the cup. One of those wide rimmed plastic ones like you got in a fast food place, it'd do for now. "Guess I can use this."

The peafowl kind of smiled . Indeed his other half did like flowers. But not for their beauty. He liked the fact that he could use them in romance. Though it would be a cold day in hell before he would ever want to admit that to anyone else.” yeah that would be kind of nice. I guess you could just ask who ever you buy them from. Most of the time they know that kind of stuff. Hum you know I not sure if he dose or not. I would say that you is right about him likin something just to be different though.” pension said. One could never be certain what his other had liked and did not like. That seemed to change a lot. There were times that pension was certain that he just lived to disagree. Him and his other half did not get along for the most part. However there were some things that they could agree on. They both tended to like the same foods and things like that. Pension just had to constant try to make his other half stay clam. That was no easy job. He looked at the boy when he said something now. Hum now picking flowers did not sound bad. Pension though was not that in to flowers. Maybe they were for the boys someone. That though made pen sort of snort . He did not see who would want to like a hybrid creature. That is what pen consider things like the griffin. Pension did not see how he could think that though. After all griffins were their own race right. But his other said a lot of things that did not make a lot sence. So he chose to ignore his other side for now . He now turned his attention back to the boy. Pension just smiled. “yeah that would hold them pretty good. Might need to put some water in there though.” pension said . He knew that when they put flowers in vases that there was water in them anyhow.

Aubri smiled as he carefully dug up a few flowers and set them in the cup. "Good point, wonder if there's a little stream or anything nearby. Least they should last for a little while. Hey, while I'm digging these up, you want any?" The gryphon figured he might as well ask, even if Pen would probably go crazy at the suggestion. Not that Aubri meant it in any special way but it was better and nicer to ask than to just ignore Pension. And it didn't surprise him that he agreed about his darker half liking things just to be disagreeable. Of course if he had heard the thoughts of Pen about being a hybrid and who would want to like him, well, he would have had quite a bit to say on the subject. Mainly he'd suggest how gryphons were the best of both worlds in a way, powerful land creature mixed with a flying creature, what wasn't to like? Not that he was a hybrid gryphon, his parents were both gryphons after all.

The peafowl silently watched the boy as he dug up the flowers. He was still trying to keep his other half quiet. He had to wonder if his other side was going to pop out again. He hoped that he would not . He heard the boy now ask him if he wanted any of the flowers. Indeed that really upset pen.” oh so now he think that we are just as fermium as he is. Well all I have to say is that you had better tell him now. Unless you are that way as well.” hissed his other half. Pension gave a slight frown hoping that his other half would just calm down. “ hay calm down hot head I am planning to tell him no.” responded pension to his other side. He then smiled to the boy and said. “ there is probably one around. I bet they would last though. Uhh no I am good thanks.” he said to the boy. He did not think that the boy meant anything by it. His other half was just overreacting to everything as usable. Unlike his other half he understood that some times creatures just wanted to be nice to you. His other half had a bad habit of hating anyone who was different no matter what . Pension though was not that way. He did not judge anyone unless he took the time to know them. He took another deep breath as he waited for the boy to finish. It was nice to be with someone who was kind to him and did not think that he was a monster. After all it was not his fault that his other side was a monster. He was just another who had to face what his other side did no matter what it was.

"Yeah, they should be alright for now. If we come across any water though it won't hurt to stop." He didn't think Pension would accept but it wasn't a bad idea to ask. He didn't really mean it in a romantic way either, just that if his friend wanted to have a flower or two the gryphon was already picking them and gathering them up so he would have been happy to add in a few to give to him later. "So what should we look for next, or just keep wandering around randomly? Both work fine for me." And he could at least say aside from a nice walk with a friend he got something from this trip too.

Pension smiled at the boy as he finished digging up the flowers . He did not think anything of the boy offering to dig up a few flowers for him. To put it plainly his other side was just being a jerk. Of course that was how his other side normally wanted to be any how. Pension had gotten pretty used to it by now. He could see though how most others would not want to be around some one who acted that way. “ yeah I think they will. Well if they is around maybe there is one nearby.” he said. He did know a tiny bit about nature. But not as much as he wanted to know. He had to learn what he could when his other half was not being a grump at him or everyone else. He did try to read a few books on the subject though. There was only so much reading he could do before his other half snapped at him. He now heard the boy as he spoke again.” well we could just go back to wondering if you want to. Who knows maybe we will find something else.” he said with a smile. He was no long to worried about being lost. He was keeping a good eye on whatever they went past. He was not worried about much. He had gotten the one thing that he had wanted for a while. He had gained a friend. Someone that he could trust and would be kind to him despite what his other side did.

"Yeah, probably at least a little water around here somewhere. Wandering around again sounds fine by me. Heck if we found this nice place there's bound to be something else interesting right?" Although what one considered interesting was all a matter of opinion. Maybe they'd be able to come across a sight that Pen would enjoy too, or maybe just Pen would like it and they'd both be eager to walk away. The gryphon wondered if Pen was like that, if he considered morbid things like a torn animal carcass or a big burn mark interesting for the violent nature related to them.
