Pension smiled when he heard the boy laugh. He could only hope that the boy was right about his other half being tired. He took a deep breath of the chilly air now. He was glad that the air was cleaner here then in the city. That meant he did not have to cough so much. Sadly though the boy had a bad habit smoking so that did not help much either. ” I hope so.” he stated. It was not all that cold out side at least. Pension knew that it was not always that way especially this time of year. He kind of frowned when he heard the boy question. He had heard of bad thing happening in the woods. But he was never one to believe the rumors. He figure if there were monsters in those woods then they would not have it so close to the woods. “ I think that we might find something out there. If we do at least we have good company right?” he said giving the boy a smile. The only thing he did not like about being outside was the bright sunlight out there.

"Yeah, and it probably won't be anything we can't handle. So let's hope for the best and if the worst happens we'll be ready for it." Strange way to look at things but it wasn't like they didn't have options. They both had wings, they were both pretty strong, and there were very few animals in the wild that would want to bother a gryphon in the first place. "So let's see what the woods have to offer shall we?" They weren't that far away from the school yet but close enough to the tree line they could get a little shelter from the sun. Aubri wasn't a big fan of that early afternoon glare when the sun was just starting to come down in your eyes.

Pension smiled at the boys words. He knew that he could probably handle whatever came at them. for now though he was happy to try to relax since his other half was being have himself for now.” that is right. As long as it dose not want to kill us we should be able to avoid it. That is a good thing about having pen around. He is a good fighter. I mean I can fight but I mostly let him do it.” he said. Indeed he did have wings but he did not know how to fly. However he was a great runner so that was a plus. And he was strong as well. He listing to the boy next question. He gave a smile on that though. “ yeah lets do that .” he said. He then started to walk towards the woods. He was not worried about animals. He was more worried that there might be something worse. That was kind of a silly thought though.

Aubri wasn't worried about anything. He figured if there was a problem it'd be with Pen and not with some random creature from the woods. He was the one he always had to keep an eye out for, even if Pension was a great guy and good friend so far. "Heh, probably one of the few things he enjoys. And if you really have to fight might as well give him a chance to shine." The only disadvantage of the woods was how limited visibility could get when you went further in. Maybe a couple dozen feet before trees and rocks blocked your sight.

Pension walked slowly looking at everything he passed. He did this so that he would not forget what way they went. He did not want to get lost out here. He was a boy who was used to having everything at his finger tips not used to the woods. He could live out if he had to though. He just did not wish to. Indeed pen was handful on his good days. The fact that even the slightest thing upset him did not help much. “ I guess that he likes it for now. Yeah he would have a chance to shine.” he said with a smile. Yeah he liked the boy fro now. He was kind enough and seemed to be quiet relaxed. Pension considered him a friend by now. However if the boy were to make a mistake and try to harm him then he would pay. Pension was nice until you crossed him. “ you know what. Good thing it is kinda shady out here.” he said as they walked deeper into the woods.

"Yeah, unusually bright day out today. No cloud cover at all it seemed. Least we have the trees now though." And beautiful scenery. Their walk had slowed but it was worth it to take in every detail. Aubri wasn't as attentive to direction as Pension though, he was focusing more on how everything looked and what was eye-catching. Flowers, insects, little animals, this place was probably just as busy in its own way as the school was, maybe even more so.

Pension walked quietly as the boy spoke. He knew all to well that it was bright outside. It was actually quiet strange that he was so light sensitive considering that his race were usually day going creature. It kind of made him wonder if he was not a mix of some other night going bird as well. that was something that only his true parents would know. And he did not figure he would ever see them again. That did not bother him though. If they wanted him then they would not have left him out in the street to die. At least that was how he saw it. “ yeah it is bright out here. You would think that it would be kind of cloudy.” he said with a smile. He still kept an eye on everything that he passed. He had learned how to survive by paying attains suddenly he looked up as a small group of birds of some sort flew straight up in front of them. “ stupid damn birds.” hissed his other side. Pension too was startled by them. He just kind of smiled and looked at the boy “ heh well that was interesting” he said with a smile.

"Heheh, guess we startled them as much as they startled us. So, have you been around the school long or got here more recently?" Out of all the things to ask earlier this was probably one of the bigger questions he'd skipped. And now he felt a little foolish asking it but better late than never. And it'd help him figure out how great Pension's sense of direction was. Shouldn't be too hard to know where the school was if he'd been here a while right? Just in case they got lost or stuck out here at night.

Pension felt his other half tense up now. He hoped that the birds scaring him would not make him want to attack. He listened to the boy as he spoke. He did this so that he might distract his other half and so he could reasoned to the boy. Pension had been here for a little while now. But he did not go anywhere because of his other side. But the good thing was that he would not be getting lost. ’’ yeah I think we did. Well I go here a few months ago I think. It is hard for me to keep up with time really.” he said. He was one who just paid attention to what was happening right here right now. Mostly because he tened to push the past away from his mind. And for good reason. He did not think nothing of the boy forgetting to ask him that. After all pen did come out and try to be a bully. “ what about you?” he asked as he took a turn in the path they were walking on. Well if that was what one could call the trail between the trees.

"Probably just over a year now, kinda hard for me to keep track too. Long enough that I know the basic area but not all of the specifics yet. Can't point out every little thing to do or see but I know a few places to hang out." Aubri had missed a few classes for a while, had to get his grades back up in a hurry but he managed it. That sort of had him focusing more on homework than on going out to have fun. Of course any chance he got he still made time for his special someone, and the church was a good excuse to get out of the school for a bit, but other than that his recreational activities were pretty slim. Shame they didn't help him slim down any.

Pension listened as the boy spoke. He was glad to here that he was not the only one who lost track of time. “ well at least I am not the only one who loses track of time. At least you know a little about things around here. “ he said with a smile. Pension was not a very good student. His dark half was constantly grumping about every little think while he was in class. Really he mostly just tried to get threw his classes and went back to his dorm. Occasionally he would wonder around to keep his other side happy and to give himself something productive to do. He was now looking at the scenery here in this part of the forest. He was kind of amazed at how peaceful it seemed here. Maybe that was because he was used to the noise of he city though. Either way he liked the view. It made him think to himself that this would be a good place to hide if you had to. Not that there was any one here though. “ heh here is a pretty view huh?” he asked the boy with a smile.

"Oh yeah, definitely a great view. And I might know a little but it's barely enough to get by sometimes." When he was tracking an animal in the woods he was great, that was actually pretty easy for him anymore. Going out with his friend to hunt for fresh meat was one of his few hobbies he could make time for. He'd also learned a few key signs about the bigger threats out here, in part thanks to a small green dragon. If the ground felt like it was trembling it was best to find out which way it was coming from first and then move to the sides as quick as possible. Going in a straight line away from it was stupid, it would catch up and you'd be seen as prey instead of a person. Running off to the side you might manage to escape a monster's notice entirely. Thankfully he didn't expect to need to share that information with Pension.

Pension quietly looked at the scenery. He found it kind of relaxing. that was saying something concider the way his dark half acted. He was sure that there was nothing out here that would want to bother them. Really he would rather that the boy did not bring up the subject when they were out in the woods. Call him paranoid but pension had the firm belief that if you spoke about bad things that they would just end up happing to you.” know what kid. I think that if someone ever wanted to get away from some one that this would be a good place to hide.” he said voicing his earlier thought. In truth pension did not believe in things that he could not see or touch. Maybe that was an odd way to view things but that was his view point

"Yeah, I think one kid actually did that for a while. Then he wound up coming to the school as a student, ran away from home or something. Never really got the full story on that one, can't even rememeber what species the guy was. And there's a kid who has a sort of shelter out here, lets people use it if they get lost and has directions from there to the school that he makes up for anyone that needs them. But he lives pretty far back in, we're not likely to run across him or his little home away from home." Aubri knew a lot of random facts about the area, but he didn't know most of the important details like names and general attitudes of people. Locations were kind of vague too, but at least it was enough to keep him informed and to avoid getting lost.

Pension gave a slight frown at the boys words. That did not help his worries a whole lot. But he would try to put that out of his mind for the moment. Then he just gave a smile . He was now looking at the trees and birds that were flying around. Though he may not seem like it he was one who sort of liked the pretty things and nature.” hum that is interesting. Well this would be the place to hide. hum yeah I think that it would not be a great idea to go way deep in the woods.” he said with a smile. He did not mind learning about random things. It kept his mind off his dark half. Speaking of witch he had to wonder rather his other side was even caring about the situation right now.
