Perking up to all of them agreeing to go on a walk with hir, Tanshin smiled and nodded.
"Sure, what would you like to know? I might be able to tell you just about anything, but there are some things that you'll have to earn the knowledge for."
Shi gave a playful wink to Maverick and nudged hir head in the direction away from the school. Shi knew there were a few cameras that could still see them out here and shi just wanted to get out for a little bit.
"Well... I haven't really noticed anything strange here and about, then again I'm usually running through here and most can't keep up at the pace I use for long distances. Heh, I guess when I'm running I'm not that observant at times."
Shi giggled quietly, walking beside them with hir hands behind hir back for the time being.

The three heads did a sort of huddle for a moment and whispered among each other before Luke, currently the closest head to Tanshin, smiled and spoke. "Well while we're at it we figure why not try and make asking questions a little fun. The three of us just came up with a question each, and we'd like to see if you can guess who asked what, and if you want to answer them you can. So we have what we feel are one tough question, one personal, and one tactful question. One of us asks if you're currently seeing anyone and what you'd be looking for in a guy or a girl. One of us asks that since you mentioned your family moving you earlier, if they're really supportive of you or if you feel they're sort of just ushering you around to save face or the family name, basically... how supportive your family is of you. And one of us asks what got you interested in fencing." In their minds this would help them figure out if Tanshin was actually paying attention to who was who, and if shi was getting to know them as individuals instead of a collective single person.

Tanshin gave a quiet laugh with hir eyes closed for a moment then opened them again as shi looked ahead and began to think.
"Let's see, Roderick asked if I was seeing anyone. I'm not. I guess you could say I've been kind of the shy type to really get involved with anyone, especially since few here are really willing to accept my being different. I really don't know what I would look for in another, but... I suppose I would look for someone who's kind, a little bit of a tease once in a while, open-minded, willing to do unordinary things..."
Shi smirked, trying to keep looking forward, shi didn't want to start blushing if they were staring at hir.
"Maverick I believe... Hmm... I want to believe that my parents are. I know they move me to different places whenever I get a call from them once in a while. Somehow they know when at least one person has taken something wrong and immediately transfer me to a different school. I understand that they just want to protect me from harassment and stuff, but its hard to go from school to school, be a bright person and make few friends again. There are just a few that are willing to ignore differences then the rest just want to criticize, my mother used to say it was because they were jealous they weren't like me, but I always knew it was a lie. I know my cousins are dying for me to come back home for a visit to race and cllimb and stuff, but whenever I talk of going home for visits with my parents they seem taken back and quiet. I think they mean well, even if it is a little rough sometimes."
Shi had to think on the last question. Shi wasn't fond of speaking about hir wing being removed to save hir life so shi had to think.
"Hmm I don't really remember exactly what drew me into wanting to do fencing, but it's become a part of my life and routine. When I was younger I used to sit in front of the tv and watch the world championship tournaments. I know some think its a boring sport, but there's more to it than trying to stab your partner. I remember trying to read both of the fencer's bodies to know what they were going to do next. I was bad at that until I was finally able to start doing it myself. When I started to physically learn the art of fencing, I was rusty, awful, however, I picked it up fairly well and easier then other students. I always wanted to do something constructive. I like to think of it as something like self-motivation, if that's the right word I'm trying to use. Did I get it right?"
She asked, smirking as shi finally looked at them after answering all the questions.

"Heh, you got us all. Guess we're not as tricky as we thought, but it's hard to be tricky when we all have our own unique thoughts and personalities." And Rod was probably overjoyed to hear the description of what Tanshin would like in someone, but shi also didn't specify male or female so maybe his chances weren't as great as he might hope. "Shall we try another round or is it your turn to launch a barrage of questions at us?" And they were all equally interested in the answers they got from hir, Tanshin was definitely a unique character and they'd all enjoy hanging out with their new friend.

Thinking for a moment as shi kept smiling after hearing shi got all of them right, shi gave a carefree shrug.
"I know your guys are still curious about me so your more than welcome to ask more questions. I'm still trying to think of a few for you guys to answer as well."
Shi smiled and kept walking, still keeping hir hands behind hir back. It was odd talking in depth to others who were just as odd as shi, but Tanshin would eventually ask hir questions to know more about them. Shi could tell, and also knew, that each had their own personality so hir questions would be both for them as a whole and individually.
"I do have one quick question though, what made you guys want to do fencing? Its not exactly in the top ten things to do as extracirricular, even though there are quite a few students taking the class."
Tanshin spoke, looking to watch their expressions to see if shi could find a cue shi had seen before.

"Oh it was mostly Luke's idea, he saw it listed and we've always wanted to take every class here at the school, this just naturally wound up on the list. And he said with three heads we'd be a unique fencer and able to throw people off. So we kinda let him have this one, figured it could be fun anyway."

Another quick huddle and this time Maverick was the one asking the questions for everyone. "One of us asks that since there's one very unique thing about you, are there any other things? Maybe other things we can't immediately tell? One of us asks if you've got any siblings and where they are. And the third asks what kind of hybrid you are, or if you're just one really amazing breed that we don't know about." Maybe the questions would overlap a little but they were still pretty good independent questions.

So it was curiousity more than anything. Good. That meant if the curiousity was deep enough they would be willing to learn faster than others who practiced with Tanshin. This was an exciting thought- A worthy opponent to train with!
"Hmm... I don't know if there is anything as unique as having a differing gender, other than my breeding. Afterall, I don't know of too many others who have the old Roc bloodlines in them... Maybe my markings? I look nothing like my parents except for my breeding and no one in my family lineage has had koi fish patterns before. I used to be a great flyer and the fastest in my clan but that's a story for another time."
Shi quickly waved off the idea of them getting curious about where hir wings were. Wasn't exactly like shi could make them disappear or anything.
"I don't think I ever had any siblings. Closest thing I have to siblings are my cousins and we were all raised within the same household. Heh I remember we would all get into trouble doing things we shouldn't do, always did things that were nearly impossible yet we did it. Not gonna lie, back when I lived with the clan and my cousins I was a little troublemaker and a ring leader among other things. But we all have to grow up at some point heh."
The hybrid smiled fondly at the memories of always being accused of being the instigator for quite a few things shi had indeed thought up. Those were the days.
"As far as I know, I'm just a hybrid. Half Roc, a quarter Bay Cat and a quarter Grizzly. You can tell how well that worked out for my genes. I'm probably the first of my clan to have been born from two different Roc hybrids though, pretty sure there are others who have been born by now born a third generation hybrid like me."
Shi joked about hir genes, trying to stay cheery and keep an open mind.

"Well now, a Roc, that's quite interesting. Think they're almost as rare as us hydras are, heh. And if that weren't enough some grizzly too, geeze bet if you really hauled off and slugged someone they'd be out like a light."

"Don't tempt fate Rod or you might just find out how strong that punch can be. So uh... not to be rude at all, but I figure this is probably a question we should have asked by now. Tanshin... in social settings and in private settings, what exactly... that is to say... well there's no easy way to say it and I'd hoped to pin the blame on Rod but that's not happening, heh. So... what should we call you in those settings? Him? Her? Hir? Hey you there? Heh, not trying to be rude or to get knocked out but if it comes up we want to get it right."

Without warning Tanshin began to blush and began to laugh out loud. Shi had no idea where it came from but perhaps it was one of the oddest yet funniest things shi had ever heard.
"I guess Roc's are pretty rare, but I always thought there were too many since my clan has about a hundred members. But in all actuality that is still pretty small compared to the rest of the world. I guess it is kind of hard to believe I'm half Roc without having wings huh? As for me hitting others I really don't know. I have never really been agitated enough to do so... nor do I have the attention span for it sometimes hehehe."
Shi chuckled softly looking at hir hands. Was shi really built enough to punch another out? Could that be why most don't come up to talk to hir? Turning hir attention back to Luke shi smirked softly.
"Hey you works well enough, unless you think its too rude then you can call me hir. But in social settings just use my name, I would prefer if few others knew of this for a while. Besides, it still feels odd that someone knows and aren't freaking out about it right now."
Shi was still blushing slightly under hir white fur.
"So tell me a little bit about you guys. Where are you guys from? How many of your kind did you grow up around?"
Shi asked walking backwards now as shi looked at them with a smile.

"Heh, we'll keep that in mind. And your secret is safe with us. Hmm, well, our parents met here at this school, moved about a town and a half over, sort of out in the middle of nowhere, and they've actually got a sort of ranch-ish setting... well a small ranch... well... okay more like a big yard... erm... maybe ten or so acres?? Aside from our parents we're the only hydra in the area. Kind of makes it hard to fit in but we were told if anyone picks on us just play up the old venom myths or some sort of dragon heritage and kids would stop bugging us. Usually works too except when dealing with real dragons. So uh, we should probably clear up all the little myths and such too. As a hydra, we do recover from injuries with amazing speed. But there's a catch, anything from the necks up is slower to heal. If one head is... injured bad enough to be "killed" then... that's kind of the end of that head. No "cut it off and there'll be two more in its place". Now the story about having killer venom isn't part of our family line, but some do have it apparently. Hmm, not sure what other rumors there might be..." But he was quite impressed with the evident feline grace shi had while walking backwards and talking to them.

As Mavvy explained and seemed to stutter here and there, shi started to giggle softly. He seemed a little more nervous than the other two when it came to talking to hir, but that was okay. This was the most shi had talked to someone around hir own age and not feeling extremely nervous and fidgety.
"Wow, your parents met here huh? Must be nice to be from around here.. sorta heh. I'm sure you'll be able to find other hydra out there besides just your parents and yourselves? Just like I'm sure there are some pure breed rocs other than within my clan."
Shi smiled listening as he explained some of the myths about the hydra. As shi was walking backwards, shi seemed to know where most of the rocks and sticks were, but shi was also using hir tail to help sense the ground behind hir. Though it won't be much use just a little further up.
"No kidding? That's awesome. For a while I had always thought it was true for hydras, but I guess it was just a myth. That's okay, you guys are pretty cool without having all those extras. I don't care what anyone else says."
Tanshin smiled again, but just for a moment as shi tripped on a newly fallen branch and started going backwards.

"That's what we kind of hope, of course Rod here wouldn't mind if each of us wound up with someone to see if we didn't encounter another hydra. And as long as nobody aims for the head, if they just aim for the body we're good." Maverick saw the stumble and quickly reached out to catch Tanshin's hands, a move Rod wished he'd thought of earlier but was glad happened. "Least our reflexes are pretty decent right?" Maverick smiled, finally relaxing a little more. Tan was just as accepting of them as they were of hir, it was a nice thing to feel for a change. Shame there were so few hydras compared to rocs out there.

Tanshin had started falling backwards and reaffirmed the grasp of their hands on hir's as they pulled hir back up from falling on hir back.
The hybrid blushed and looked away slightly and slowly began to stand up and giggled softly.
"Yeah I guess you're right."
Shi smiled as shi regained hir composure and stepped over the branch.
"Guess that teaches me a lesson to look more often where I go. Hehe guess I got a little carried away there for a moment and forgot."
Shi looked over at them after shi gave hirself a light tap on hir head, hoping they weren't down about not seeing too many hydras around.
"Don't worry, I'm sure some day soon you guys will be able to find others like you. It may take time but there is always bound to be others out there to meet."
Shi almost felt like a third wheel whenever shi said that. It was kind of a sad thought to lose a friend if they felt that being with their own kind was more important. If that were to happen, the hybrid would be back to square one- Alone. The creature had grown accustom to the feeling, thus is why shi had been caught playing around in the gardens by hirself by the headmaster.
For a few moments Tanshin walked in silence beside them, trying to find something else to talk about when hir ears perked up to the sound of water. Laughing, Tanshin looked at the hydra and grabbed a hand to lead them a little faster, trying to jog and run with them in tow.
"Come on."
Shi said excitedly.

"Now why should we waste our time hoping for a hydra when we have a very fine roc right here?" Ouch... now that was probably going to get Rod hit but he didn't care. He wanted to make it very clear right now that he was attracted to Tan and didn't feel compelled to look only for a hydra. Besides if his other halves, his brothers as it were, had their way the three of them would all have a romantic interest and that left a good two out of three chance for another of their species.

As Tan took their hand and started jogging onward they could faintly hear the water, each of them smiling a little. And with the way shi was acting shi probably liked water or this spot on her walk, so they could be just as enthusiastic.

None of them could see it as Tanshin led the way towards the source of running water, shi had a big grin and could feel hir cheeks burning with a blush. Well, at least shi knew Roderick was intested and was not going to stop until shi either told him shi was not interested or that he was nice and thought he might have a chance... with time. Tanshin wouldn't knew where to start if shi were to get in a relationship as shi never had one, however shi did know it would not be easy to grasp hir attention in more affectionate ways than socially.
As of that comment, Tanshin would make it seem like shi did not hear Rod's comment for a moment. The area shi was leading them towards was a favorite spot, the only place shi liked to swim whenever shi wanted and not having to worry about others bothering hir or watching hir. It was peaceful, sunny and relaxing. More often than not shi came here to skinny dip, at the lake one couldn't do that. And now that shi had company shi wouldn't be able to do that either, but at least shi would be able to share a spot once in a while.
As the four of them reached the water hole, the hybrid released their hand and darted off and swan dived into the water, clothes and all. Shi swam about six feet out before shi surfaced again.
Shaking hir head free of excess water, Tanshin looked back to them and waved as shi laughed.
"Come on in, feels great on warm days like this."
As they seemed to take forever, shi was almost tempted to sneak around and push them in.
