Now the hydra wasn't always agreeing with each other, but they could all agree that the muffins and cookies were good, and they wanted more. And when they could all agree on something, sometimes they could actually be incredibly coordinated. Like this time, when they walked up behind and slightly beside Tan, one head smiling and tapping her on the shoulder, this being Luke. And meanwhile on their long neck Rod leaned around while shi was distracted and snatched the muffin right out of hir hand with his mouth with a big grin on his face.

"Heheh, oh come on now you silly hydra there's plenty on that tray, you don't have to snatch one from Tan's hands like that. Go on and help yourself to another, they're really not that sweet or anything."

Having all hir attention towards Drake, the hybrid jumped slightly when the hydra stood up. Shi still kept hir attention on Drake, unrealizing they were behind hir, though aware of them moving around. Feeling the tap on hir shoulder had hir look up with hir ears lazily falling back.
"Yes?"
Next thing shi knew was the presence of another too close for hir comfort then... no heat in hir hands anymore. Quickly looking down then up again, shi gave a goofy frown, trying not to laugh as shi looked at Rod with a mouthful of muffin. Shaking hir head, Tanshin sighed and began to laugh as well.
"Guess that means I didn't need one."
Shi chuckled, playfully pushing them away.
"Was it good?"
Shi grinned, hesitating to reach for another for hirself.

Rod grinned and managed to chew and swallow his mouth full of muffin and licked his lips. "Mmm, very good, you should definitely try one. Promise I won't steal it this time, hehe. And they promise too, you shall be safe from further muffin raids. We're gonna dig into that pile of cookies instead."

Drake grinned and briefly considered if he were to roast Rod in flames if he'd recover from it or if he'd just get mad. How fast was regeneration to fire compared to a normal cut... the last hydra he knew was able to take just about anything and even won a thousand dollar bet that way. And now the subject had been conveniently changed twice away from what he suspected Tan was really nervous about. Hopefully that was a good thing and he could eventually bring things back, Athos was definitely going to be interested in the project though.

Tanshin quirked an eyebrow at the hydra, as if she were mentally trying see the lie but hir grin told otherwise.
"I don't know, you guys have almost obliterated what the headmaster just made. What if he were having a special visit and he needed a few of those?"
Shi teased, hoping Drake would play along with it.
Hesitating momentarily, Tan picked up another muffin. It was warmer than the one shi had moments ago before it had been burgled.
"Don't give yourself a stomach ache now, I don't want to hear it from you guys later on when we do some practice matches."
The hybrid waggled the warm muffin at the hydra playfully before quickly taking a bite out of it before they could have the chance to steal it again.

"Heh, well I certainly was expecting company and your visit is a nice one and very welcome but it wasn't quite the company I was anticipating." He knew students or teachers would always come up and ask him for something but he didn't expect these two today, and certainly didn't know they'd be coming through the balcony entrance.

The hydra paused as their hand had been in the process of closing around at least half a dozen cookies, turning and blushing a little at the sudden thought of raiding someone else's cookies like they had been doing. "Heh, well you certainly don't want to hear any complaints like that since you'd have all three of us complaining about an upset stomach and not just one person."

Tanshin giggled as shi listened to them, that quickly turned into a hum of glee as hir ears perked. As she chewed the bite, hir tail lightly poofed up and began to wag.
"This is good. I've never had muffins before but this is good!"
Shi exclaimed excitedly, quickly taking another bite.
The hybrid was beginning to get lost in hir own thoughts as shi wiggled around.
Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to have let hir have something sweet, but for now the consequences could only be minor hiccups.

The headmaster had a feeling that even if shi did become a limitless ball of energy for a while because of the sweet muffin and cookies available to hir, somehow shi'd manage to run down that infinite battery. Whether it would be worrying about wings, challenging the hydra to fencing matches repeatedly, exploring the whole school from top to bottom three times trying to beat a record on how fast shi could do it, or some other fashion he knew that energy would dwindle eventually. "So you've managed to convince this hydra here to be a practice dummy for you in fencing huh? Heh, well at least it's a moving target but do they put up a good fight? I know they'd probably do just fine in a fist fight but in fencing?"

"Hey, we're not as slow as we look. We're actually quite lithe and flexible when we want to be, other times we're a solid wall."

Quickly swallowing the bite, shi tried forcing it for a few seconds before answering since shi had swallowed before it was really chewed.
"Hehe, actually they came into the gym when fencing class was starting and they wanted to try it out. Somehow.. eh, before long I had them practicing with me heh."
Most students did not like practicing with Tanshin as they often felt shi was too fast and/or too much for them to handle, even when shi was holding way back.
"And uh... um.. due to some circumstances... I sort of bribed them heh.."
Shi chuckled quietly then quickly took another bite of the muffin before saying anything more.
Besides, the creature wanted to eat at least one more muffin before the hydra ate all of them.

"Heheh, well yes I suppose that would do it. A bit of luck and a bit of persuasion got you your new practice partner, good. Crimson will want to see you at your best before giving you any lessons or pointers. And if she gets carried away you'll want a few ice packs handy... lots of ice packs really, and maybe a few dozen bandages." Drake grinned, hoping that was a nice way to suggest he had an idea that the hydra was going to be hanging around Tan and might need to give a blood donation due to "unfortunate accidents" in fencing that might cause cuts and scrapes.

"Well if she's going to come down and join us for a class eventually why don't you come down too headmaster? I've heard that you're pretty handy with a blade and if she's so skilled I'm sure at some point she's probably used you as her practice dummy right? So she'll have someone familiar to demonstrate against before giving any actual lessons."

Tanshin giggled as shi looked at the tray of goodies and listening to Drake.
"Oh please, you forget, I am a third Roc. I can heal cuts and scrapes just fine. If it gets out of control all the more fun, justmeans I wouldn't have to hold back my massive amounts of energy."
Shi grinned before taking a bite out another muffin. Even if Tanshin did get whipped in a match, shi would most definately enjoy it just because shi had a chance to fight with Crimson.
And even so, shi would be just as pleased to simply be able to meet hir idol in person and call it good. First things first, shi needed to teach the hydra to learn to be as good as they want.
"Sounds like a splendid idea. You should come headmaster. I would like to see you using a blade as well. Would be most exciting."

"There was a time once when I was actually better than her. Then she lost once to me, decided it was never gonna happen again, and totally cleaned my clock every match after that. I'm still good I'm just not at her level of intensity. Heh, if you can manage even a tenth of the energy Crimson puts into her fencing you'll probably be able to beat me or any other opponent you want. And make sure you teach these three how to handle themselves, anyone can be a good fencer if they practice, not everyone can be a great fencer though. You're definitely going to be one of them."

Rod grinned. "Oh I get what you're saying, girls are better than guys at this stuff huh? Well then we'll have to try even harder and who knows maybe we'll beat this great Crimson some time."

"Rod... ... ... just... just shut up okay?"

The hybrid bursted out laughing. Not only at the hydra's comment but at Drake's as well. All it ever meant was that females had a more fierce determination than a male could truly want.
"Haha, I think Rod has a point to an extent, but its not all like you think. Females can have a stronger desire to overcome something if they push for it. Males on the other hand really don't have to try as hard to accomplish something. The headmaster could defeat Crimson if he truly wanted to, but his desire to beat her in a match would have to be greater than Crimson's of wanting to do it. Course, everyone's desire to win at something is always a little different."
Tanshin smirked, playfully winking at Rod as shi took another bite. He had a point, but it was one that was one sided.

"Thanks Tan. Heh, we'll be sparring quite a bit potentially so we might as well try our best to win and get better at the sport. But when you get down to it who cares if you're the absolute best or just close to it, or even if you're not that good. You still try and that's more than most people can say. Something looks hard they usually say no right from the start, never even give themselves a chance to shine. That's why we try everything we can."

"I don't believe it Rod, you go from totally dense to actually being insightful. How do you pull those drastic changes off so well?"

"Because believe it or not I do listen and I take in all that I hear. And then I usually try to put it all together and make use of the information, or come up with a valid point. So I won't look like a fool all the time, just sometimes."
