Rhapsody Aryanos stood before the door to the headmasters office. Her face a stoic mask, her tail twitching the only thing to give away her nervousness. The young panther smoothed her fur before raising one hand to gently knock three times. Her mind a maelstrom of fears over this first meeting with the headmaster.

A new student, one of the most interesting things in Drake's job. It was like a present being delivered and unwrapped, never knowing quite what to expect, what they'd be like, or if he'd end up loving them as a student here or secretly wishing they'd never come in the first place. The second of those two options being extremely rare but still it could happen. The towering red dragon heard a few faint knocks on the door and smiled, walking slowly over and opening it to be met with a new face. "Welcome welcome, please come in. Would you like anything to drink, tea, soda, water? Or perhaps a snack? They're a couple hours old but I have some recently baked scones that are still nice and soft." The dragon indicated she could take a seat anywhere in his room but the most obvious place was a padded chair across from a couch, separated by a low stone table. Hopefully he made a good first impression.

Rhapsody blushes a little overwhelmed by the headmaster, all her worrying for naught it seemed. "Err. No sir a cup of tea would be nice." She enters the office and takes a seat on the couch setting the books clutched to her chest on the table. Once seated rhapsody subtly smooths the fur on her tail which had "poofed" with the headmasters sudden appearance.

The headmaster smiled and walked into his kitchen to get a cup of tea for himself and one for the new student. So far she seemed nice, even though he only heard a few words they weren't weighed down with hatred or anger, more nervousness than anything else. Drake took the chair and set both cups down, sliding one across the table to her. "Welcome to the school. Now, I do have a file that's supposedly got all I need to know about you in it. But I prefer to trust what I see and hear in person. So, anything you'd like to ask me or you'd like to tell me about yourself?" Drake was still pretty imposing even when sitting down but the calm and reassuring air of a friendly headmaster hopefully overcame the dread of staring at a dragon almost twice one's size. He didn't want her to be intimidated, not unless she planned on doing something wrong.

"My father said he discussed with you about my… problems?" As she speaks her eyes nervously flash to the ribbon around her left wrist hiding the scars there. "Father said I was supposed to check in with you. So you knew I was taking my medicine and that you'd be watching for signs of… relapse. "

"Please don't consider it a problem, or think about relapse. They're such discouraging words, think of it as... a temporary personality shift or an old habit you're trying to break. See, already sounds much better doesn't it? Always think positive if you can, and it'll be easier to keep those things under control. Ideally nobody would have to watch you, you'll enjoy your time here with us so much those thoughts will be a thing of the past. And if not, I'm a universal donor so you're in pretty good shape." Drake smiled, hoping his positive outlook might start to rub off a little. He did hear about it, and he'd managed students like that before without any severe incidents. "But as long as it concerns you, and him, we'll be sure you have medicine readily available either on your person or in the hospital wing of the school."

Rhapsody sipped her tea and shyly smiled at the dragon. "Thank you sir. I don't like talking about it so if it's alright could we only tell people who have to know?" Rhapsody blushed slightly, what had happened and her choices following the event still weighed on her shoulders.

"Of course. Right now you and I are the only ones in this whole school that know. And it'll stay that way unless you decide to tell someone, I'm good at keeping secrets. So, your record had indicated something about home schooling lately. It can be hard to adjust back to a classroom setting with different teachers and other students around. If you have any trouble you'll let your instructor know? Or come to me? I want you to know that I'm always happy to help out, even if it's something that doesn't seem too important. If it matters to you it matters to me." Drake kept that as his pretty standard policy. Of course he did have a bit of a personal life but not normally at the times when students came looking for advice or had a problem.

Rhapsody placed the empty cup of tea on the table before her. "Yessir. Thank you. " she said as in the back of hermind she thought yeah right.

Drake smirked. He'd seen that look on many students, it was well concealed but the faintest signs of disbelief and contempt could show through in the slightest of movements and tone of one's voice. He'd had a good fifty or more years to look for it in people, sometimes new students swore he could read minds but that was a skill he didn't possess... though he knew one or two that did have such a talent supposedly. "I'm going to take a wild guess that you're either not used to someone being supportive and going the extra mile for you when they're not family, or you've had people say something like that and it turned out to be a complete lie. Well in my case if you give me a chance I'll prove it to you, as long as you prove to me you want to learn here. So what gesture of good faith would help convince you?" This was where most either pressed their luck by saying an instant A in a class or went the other way with something extremely simple like a hall pass or getting out of a detention. The middle ground, the rarest kind of requests he got, usually urged for their own room or something like that. Now he was curious to see which if any she'd want while it was being handed to her.

Rhapsody goes quiet as she considers. Thoughts of easy living never entering her mind. She looks down at her books the. Back to the headmaster. "If it's not to much trouble. I'd like a roommate."

"Of course, that's easily arranged. Anyone specific you've met yet that you want to room with, or any specific personality or species you'd prefer? I do try to know everyone I possibly can so whatever you want in a roommate can probably be done." That was an unexpected answer, but a good one. Drake figured she was trying to be more social, try to get to know someone and maybe if she didn't feel like coming to the headmaster of her new school she'd want to confide in this other person.

"No sit no preference. Err the dorms aren't co-Ed are they?" the girl grew fidgety at this idea. Rhapsody had no experience with boys, especially teenage boys.

"There are a few that are co-ed but the majority of the dorms aren't. Basically co-ed is only by special request so it's girls and boys dorms for everyone else." Drake would make sure she had a decent roomie but he still wanted to get a better feel for how she'd interact around the school. So far he got the sense she'd be shy, which made sense since it had been a while since her last day in a public school. There was something else about her though, something he couldn't quite place. "Are you sure there's nothing else I can do to make your stay here more enjoyable?"

No sir nothing I can think of thank you." While thankful for such a gentle headmaster Rhapsody was still nervous with figures of authority or being with new people and she was starting to feel anxious.
