"Geeze it's like we're from a different planet or something. You'd think with all the dragons that are supposedly in town and at the school we wouldn't be gawked at like this." Roderick sighed and adjusted their backpack again. The school supply store had been very pleased to see them and sold all the required books. Now the bag was a little too heavy and not exactly tailored to their unique body, constantly rubbing either his neck or Luke's. The manager had noticed their situation and suggested custom ordering one, they all agreed at the time but now that he thought about it if it wasn't loaded with all the supplies it probably wouldn't be so bad.

Luke shrugged and tolerated the annoying pack on his side to give Rod a break, giving a big smile to a passerby that was staring too much. "Hey look on the bright side. Everyone's staring but all the would-be pickpockets see three heads and move on to an easier mark. Now if only it wasn't such a long walk back to the school. We were lucky to catch a ride out here but getting one back's apparently the problem."

"Yeah. And on the even brighter side I'm perfectly fine with how our backpack fits, heheheh. Being the middle head has its advantages. You guys did save enough for bus fare right? Right?"

The hydra heads gave a unified sigh as they dug into their pockets only to find them empty. Three heads and not a single one of them remembered to stash a few bucks away for a ride to the school. Looked like they'd be walking, and usually when they made this trip something bad happened.

(Roderick is right head, Luke is left, the middle one is Maverick)

It was just another day for a young woman who walked down the busy street.. She was on the hunt for a victim to attack. She also wanted to explore the town just a little before she went back to hiding again. She glared at those who passed by her. They had a bad habit of looking at her oddly. Of course she should expect that when she carried around weapons and wore an eye patch. However vixi was in no mood to listing to stranger whisper and see them stare. Then something happened that she could not ignore. A young dog walked passed her as he did he smacked her hip. She turned around and slammed the kid up against the wall of a nearby building. Then she decided that they would be seen so she shoved him in to a nearby ally way. Now he would pay for that mistake. he gave a frightened whimper and stared at her. Vixi being bad tempered as she was just sank her claws into him and said. ” I will give you three seconds to run. If you do not get far enough I will kill you.” the boy just kind of nodded. She then let him drop to the ground. Then she started to count. Before he could get up she cut his throat and he was dead. Then she just sort of stared at him as he breathed his last breath. That was one less mouth someone would have to feed. She then wiped off her blade and walked away. She had other things to do today.


Vixi then walked out of the alleyway. She knew that know one had seen here there. As she walked away she heard someone talking. Well more like a group of some ones. Did they see what happened? She wondered to herself. Well if they did she would just kill them too. You see vixi was not dumb if she killed someone she quickly left so that she would not get caught. Killing though brought her great pleasure. And with this victim she might just take her time. As she followed the source of the sound she found herself looking at a very strange sight. It looked like a dragon but yet it had three heads. Humm that was different. Never the less vixi did not want a witness to her crime. She walked to where the now stood. She did not say anything for a few seconds . Instead she just stared at them darkly giving then the idea that she was not pleased to see them. “ something wrong boys you look troubled.” she stated darkly. She did not intended to harm them just yet. Though if she found that they knew about what she had done she would kill them. For now though the were meeting the better half of vixi.

Three different heads, three different reactions to the sudden appearance of the female. One promptly took to staring and smirking a little, another felt a sudden sense of dread overwhelm him, the third taking a little offense at her sudden appearance and comment.

"Nothing wrong at all. Always good to see a pretty face after all. Especially a new one, you go to the school or just live in town?"

"Not to be rude, certainly don't intend any offense or anything, but we should be on our way. Got a bit of a walk ahead of us and we don't want to be late. Heard they shut the gate on students after a certain time and that definitely doesn't work out well for our first few days there."

"Well you're not exactly staring at us but no nothing's wrong. We know where we're going and don't need an escort or anything. So if you'd be so kind as to move, we can get moving again." Luke wasn't the best at showing his frustration, especially when Roderick was closest to the woman and already showing a little interest in flirting with her. She didn't look like the kind of person he'd want to waste their time on, not that she wasn't pretty but the left head really just wanted to get to school and start studying for an exam he had tomorrow.

Vixi gave a slight smile at the reaction she got form each of them. Well that was another thing she did not expect. She listened as one seemed to flirt with her while the other two just wanted to get back to the school. Wait school? That meant that he might see her crime. That is unless someone else found the kind first. She glanced back behind her to see if they had seen anything so far nothing. she then gave a sort of understanding look at the boy. So it looked like she would have to answer the boy now. Well one of them anyhow. She looked at him with a slight smiled then glanced at the other two . “ pretty face eh? Well you do not look that bad either. Hehe I am a bit old for school dear. But to say I live in town is a lie. I live in the woods for right now.” she said in a softer tone. She was about to tell the kid not to go the way she had just come from. But before she could say anything a scream came from the alleyway.


Oh someone found the kid. Well that would not be good for her. She turned to look at the noise and smiled . Well there when her cover if he caught on to her. Oh well she would tend to him one way or another if he did. This was going to be an interesting day indeed. “ well if the school is that way you may want to wait for the noise to clear hehehehe it sounds like someone had a bad …. Day “ she said frowning a bit now. “ oh and by the way kid there is plenty of room for you to go by Nethir i nor you are fat enough to take up an entire side walk .” she added with a slight hiss to her voice. She the lowered her hand to her side. She was making sure that her weapon was near by just incase he tried something If the boy had a problem with her then he should just say so. Of course if he did he just might find himself in world of pain.

Roderick was still interested in chatting with her but the other two were getting increasingly impatient or agitated. Maverick had a good idea this person may have known what was going on down the street a little bit but he also knew to keep his mouth shut. Luke was more interested in glancing around for escape routes and as she said the sidewalk was big enough for them to pass but not by much... they were a relatively stocky creature considering their body had to be broad enough to support three long necks and heads, they could go around her but it would mean stepping just a little into the street or bumping into her. He felt that was probably the worst thing to do right about now and if Maverick could hear his thoughts he'd probably agree.

"Thanks. So the woods huh? Don't have to worry about the noise of the castle or the town then, and don't have to get cramped either. Wish we had a place out there but also heard it isn't the safest place to be hanging around."

"Well we can hang about for a bit and chat I suppose, considering there's some sort of ruckuss over there and nine times out of ten locals always want to jump to conclusions and blame the strange new guy even when he had nothing to do with anything."

Vixi tried not to laugh at the nose down the street. While she wanted her crime to be hidden she found a sort of sick pleasure at the fact that it had frighten someone. Of course that sort of thing would have bothered most anyone who were in their right minds. Of course technically speaking vixi obviously was not in her right mind. In fact one might say that the woman was completely mad. Of course that just simply was not the case . She just was a bit on the dark side . She was also aware of the fact that there was very little room for them to pass by her. It was the fact that she was not going to let another tell her what to do that kept her from moving. That and the fact that if he did something that made her upset he would not be able to get away. Though on the other hand neither would she. She may have been evil but she was not stupid. She was now watching the males with some interest. She had never met a creature quiet like them. Sure she had met dragons and such but the really were not the something as a hydra. And they did not have three heads giving her different reactions. That made her have to think her responses out very careful. This creature could make a formidable foe. But nothing was resistant to bullets at close range. Or knives. And vixi had both. Either way though vixi would make due with her current situation.



She now looked to right head as he spoke again to her. Well he certainly was interested in her now wasn’t her. Well that was alright with vixi for now. If he knew how old she was and what she was he may not have been so interested in her. Oh well he would find out soon enough. They always did. “ yes that is my home for now. I do not fit in to the social graces of this town. As a matter of fact you might say that I like to bend the rules too much. After all I am not what I seemed to be kid.” she said smiling slightly. She kept her hands over her weapons so that he did not see them if he was looking. That way she could attack him if he tried something stupid. She then looked at the middle head who had also spoken to her. She held in the urge to laugh. Indeed people did blame the new creature for strange happening. Hum maybe she should not have said anything then. “ heh yes sounds like it . Yeah the locals do have a bad habit of doing that. Really though it almost always is someone closet to them that commit’s the crime though” vixi said. She smiled now. He was smarter then he looked. That though was not a good thing for her though she was sure that she could work around it somehow.

"Yes, the one closest to them... by physical proximity that is. Thankfully in my case there's usually two suspects that can be ruled out... except in cases like who stole the last slice of pizza when I wasn't looking, or who wrote a note to someone in class." Maverick tried adding a smile and a bit of a joke to his comment but he knew what he was saying. He didn't trust this new woman even if Roderick was trying to hit on her already.

"If we had any cash I'd offer to take you some place to grab a quick bite to eat and wait for all the commotion to die down. Sadly these two had us spend all our cash on books and stuff, gonna have to get something from the cafeteria and hope they're understanding at the school." Not the most elegant of pickup lines he'd tried but actually... a lot better than some of his previous attempts with other girls and the occasional guy.

Luke thought he caught a glimpse of something at her side but kept his mouth shut, instead focusing on the scene up ahead. Ambulances, police, all starting to arrive on scene. Half a dozen passersby crying or in various states of shock, probably someone murdered. He'd probably check at the school later and see if anyone was reported as missing, if not then he wouldn't lose any sleep over it. For all he knew it could have been some drug runner or a pimp or prostitute that got more than they bargained for.

Vixi gave a smile as the boy started to speak yet again. She found herself thinking that he was certainly an odd one. Though have at least two different conversations at once (because one head was quiet for the moment) was a little bit confusing for her. The good thing was that she no longer wanted to kill him right away. No instead she was interested in trying to figure him out for right now. Though the noise down the street was starting to bother her. She tried not to show this though so that the boy would not be temped to ask her questions. She now looked at the boy with a slight smile. She was aware that one still chose to flirt with her. Oh well at her age she was actually glade when someone chose to flirt with her. Though she also picked up on what the middle head was hinting at. That she had something to do with what was going on . Of course he was right to assume such a thing. She knew though not to get defensive with him though. That would only make her look guilty. So for now vixi would just choose to play dumb . Until he made the mistake of saying something and out right accusing her. Then she would make him pay for his mistake with his life.



“ Yes that is how that sort of thing works kid. Hehe well that certainly could come in handy I guess. “ she said with a smile. She could feel herself getting kind of nervous when she saw the cops. Good thing for her she did not show it very much. Though he asked she could just make some excuse. They would not have a reason not to believe her after all. She the turned to the right head who spoke next. She still found it funny that he was flirting with her while the other one was talking about something totally different. “ hehe well school is important though. If you and your brothers want I could by you lunch. It really would be no trouble. “ she said with a slight smile. If there was one thing this convict had it was money. And what was more she did not steal it. She worked odd jobs here and there to earn it. Maybe vixi was just a little honest. Or maybe not. Vixi had no idea why she opted to be nice to him. Maybe it was the fact that she just wanted to get away from the cops. She could not say for certain. She did know that this was turning out to be an odd day for her. But it was better then stalking around the woods all day waiting a victime to pass her by.

"Are you sure it wouldn't be any trouble? I'd hate to inconvenience you, and I'll certainly owe you one, but lunch sounds great." Roderick was getting them in a tight spot but he didn't know or care. He saw a girl that was willing to talk to them, one that had a certain way about her, he wasn't sure what kind of way exactly but he felt drawn to her regardless. Like he had probably a hundred other times but maybe for once the others would let him get somewhere with it.

"Except we don't really know any good places to eat around here, still pretty new to town. Just know a few things our parents told us about when they were here and it doesn't exactly apply much. We really don't want to trouble you that much, picking a place and paying for food. And how would we find you to ever pay you back for this gesture? Living in the woods means it'd be a challenge to run into you intentionally again."

Maverick was mentally applauding Luke for his attempt to maneuver them out of this little lunch date with a suspicious stranger. But he had a feeling if they suddenly walked away or made the wrong kind of move it would mean trouble. Which would be stupid on her part at the moment considering the nearby presence of police but at least they were doing fine right now. Maybe lunch could turn out to be the easiest way to get away from her without incident if they played it right. Roderick wouldn't like it but who knew maybe he was the only one that was right about her.

Vixi kind of smiled now. She was still confused at the way the boy had several ways of answering her. Really in her mind it was simple yes or no question. Either way she did not care. She had relaxed just a little bit now. She was trying to act as if she was not a threat to him. Vixi was not stupid. If she wished to harm him she would not choose to do it right in front of the cops. No she would do it when he least expected it. She moved her hand away from her side though she discreetly made sure that her weapons were concealed. She did not feel the need to kill him. Just talk to him or let him leave that was what she would do to him for now. After all like was stated before vixi was not stupid. No she was very smart and very quick to catch on to things. Right now she knew that at least to of these boys wanted to leave.


“ no it would not be any trouble. Hehe if that was the case I would not have offered to buy you lunch.” she said to the right head then she looked to the left head who had also spoken to her. “ hehe I see. Humm. Well, It is completely up to you all rather you want to or not. I do not expect you to anything for me in return though. I was merely being friendly with my offer.” she said with a slight smile. She made sure that her tone was a friendly one. Though vixi had a lot of trouble doing that. Her tone of voice almost always was dark and intimidating. That came from years of stalking victims. And it also came from years of hiding her condition. Vixi was both male and female. But the boy was not likely to ever find that out. Right now though, She was trying to ease his mind about her. She was no longer in the mood to hurt him or anyone else. All vixi wanted was to get away form the cops. And continue what she was doing to day. Witch was restocking her living corers with the basics. After all she did not hunt the beasts of the forest for fear that the nose would attract unwanted attention.

"Sweet, I'd love to join you for lunch. And I'm sure these two wouldn't complain either." Roderick wasn't necessarily thinking at the moment. Meanwhile Maverick was starting to think she was more along the lines of a prostitute that robbed her customers after a bit of fun than anything else. Luke was still trying to tactfully avoid hanging around this woman any longer but didn't know how to voice his opinion exactly.

"Well I don't see any harm in a lunch if you're offering to buy and insist there's no need to repay you. Who knows maybe some day we'll get to extend the same offer to you."

"Oh... why not. I don't think we have much in common but you and Roderick over there might, so we can head to lunch. And if you don't think it too terribly impolite and we don't have anything to talk about, or Rod's doing all the talking, I can always read up for the test I'm supposed to take tomorrow." At the very least he would be able to distance himself from the stranger. Mentally and socially if not physically.

Vixi smiled slightly as she listened to him respond. Well at least she was right to think that at least one of them did not want nothing to do with her. Though if she knew that one thought that she was a prostitute she would have slapped him. After all vixi did not have any desire to sleep with others. Now that was not to say that she would not if she found an interest in them. Or she thought that she could use them in one way or another. Vixi also did not see the point in robbing others. She just killed them to watch them die. Though if anyone ever asked her she would say that she robbed the poor sap blind. That was another way vixi kept her tuff girl act up. Deep down though she rally was not all that bad. That was another thing that nobody would ever know about her. Vixi held a slight smile on her face as another thought ponder her mind. Why would they go to lunch with her when only one wanted to go? Was she really that intimidating? Surly not to something as large as he was. But she could be wrong she supposed.


She now looked at the right head who spoke again. He must have an interest in her unlike the others. But vixi just did not feel the same way though she flirted back a bit.” it is a pleasure dear. So I will take you all to the restart down the street I hear it is a good place to eat.” was her answer. She then looked at the middle head and said “ perhaps you will but like I said I am not concerned with that sort of thing. “ she then turned to the left head and gave another soft smile. “ hehe probability not. I have a habit of giving others a bad impression. No like I said school is important after all’ she said softly. Well now it looked like she would get away from those cops. Even if she had some company while she did so. Strangely vixi kind of liked this boy for the moment. Hopefully her mood would not charge anytime soon.

Of course in a way the hydra was already helping her, lowering any onlooker's suspicion of the shady female now that she was talking to him and going to be heading to a restaurant with him. Any debt for the food was being paid off without knowing it just getting her further away from the cops.

Maverick could definitely say one thing that was a terrible disadvantage to being a hydra. Three heads, three different tastes and desires when they had dinner, and either all three had to have smaller portions or only one, maybe two could get a full meal. One stomach for three mouths didn't work too well, granted it was a big bigger than what you'd find from some normal creature like a wolf, fox, egret, or heck even dragons. Food and drink could still end up extremely expensive and not to the benefit of everyone. "Okay, we're ready when you are."

At least she was acting understanding, or possibly really understanding about how important school could be. And she was tolerant of the three potential conversations at once, Luke was a little less nervous but still uncomfortable around her. That "off" feeling was still hanging like a stormcloud over them, but he'd keep quiet and read for the test, let Maverick be the one to worry for a while.

"Any place we get a chance to sit down and eat with a pretty face is good. And that's just what we're going to be doing so I'm pretty sure lunch is going to be great." A pretty face? Really? Sometimes Roderick had to admit to himself his attempts at flirting just turned out pathetic or terribly cliche.

Vixi smiled slightly now. She would be able to be away from those cops. One could not blame her for wanting away from them. She did kill that kid and she was on the run for killing countless others. Vixi though tried not show that to the boy. In fact her mind was focused on trying to remember where the restaurant was. Oh yes now she remember it was only few steps from here. She had never eaten there but had been told that it was a really good place to eat. So that was were she would be taking them today. Good thing though for vixi was the fact that she had been saving up quiet a bit of money from her odd jobs so she could afford a little bit more then usual. Of course she was aware that the hydra might have different tastes just as they had different personas. Though vixi did not choose to say anything like that to him. Though vixi was not very educated she did understand that you needed one. Unless of course you were like her and could kill for a living. A very twisted sick sort of job . She did sometime regret becoming what she was though. If only for the fact that she could never let anyone get close to her. Because if she did they would know what she was. A sick twisted monster who could never love anyone .


She smiled now as the boy spoke again. Well one was still trying to flirt with her. Sad thing was that he would not get very far with her by using comments like that. Vixi did not like hearing the something over and over. It made her feel funny. Especially when that was a complement to her . “ okay then let us go.” vixi said to the middle head then she looked to the right head with a soft smile and said. “ hehe yes and I get to look at three handsome faces. I hope that it goes well” vixi was used to listing to other use lame lines to try to flirt with her. All she did was play along with them for just a few minutes or so. she then started to lead them to the restaurant. She was sure to make sure that he could keep up with her so they did not get lost. Though if they did or they ditched her she would not say much. After all this kid did not mean much to her even if he was helping her get away from those dang cops.

The hydra followed behind her despite what one or two of them really wanted to do. Since Rod was being so insistent that they hang around this woman though, the other heads took this opportunity to have a quick whispered conversation with him. Hopefully she wouldn't mind if she overheard the three arguing, it was bound to happen after all, three personalities all in one body had to lead to some conflicts.

"Geeze Rod, quit with the lame lines. She's being polite to half of them but they're really annoying."

"Yeah, I gotta agree with Mav on that one. Even if we hadn't heard them a few hundred times already they'd still be bad."

"Well maybe if you two let me get past a first date with someone, or let me actually get in a relationship, I'd have more practice and better lines." Roderick turned to the woman and smiled. When they got to the restaurant he was sure to run ahead and open the door for her. "After you." It was still kind of lame but it was also common courtesy. He was trying to figure out what he could compliment her on, what he could do to make a sort of comeback from the weak attempts so far. And normally on anything like this that could possibly resemble a date he'd order something expensive to impress the person he was with... usually he'd be the one paying though.
