Pension smiled at the boy comment now. He knew that was true. And maybe the boy would make a good friend. He smiled as they went down the hall way. It was nice to be walking with someone who seemed to understand his other half was not the real him. Merely a mask that was used to attack others. Not that he meant for it to though “ you are right about. You know maybe this could be the start of a good thing .” he said with a smile. Pen would never admit that the boy was good to have around. However he would show it by not attacking him or being so mean to him. However that was not likely to happen just yet. “ you will never have anyone who will care about you . Not like I do.” whisper his dark half now. That thought made pension retort to him. “ you only care about you.” then he smiled at the boy as they came to the end of the hall. Now they could down stairs. “ you ready to go down now ?” he asked aubri as he stopped at the steps.

"Sure thing, ready whenever you are. For now anywhere you lead I'm following." He was unaware of the conversations Pen and Pension had, but he got the feeling they went on pretty frequently and were always along the same line. Basically little more than the dark half saying he's the strong one and that the weaker side known as Pension wasn't loved and couldn't protect himself. Not that it was true, maybe he couldn't defend himself quite as well without the proper attitude but very few people ever just sat back and let themselves get hurt when they knew they could stop it or get a friend to help. Or maybe that was just Aubri's very narrow point of view.

Pension kind of smiled at the boy when he made his statement. He was not used to being the leader of anything. That was his other half job for the most part. “ okay. Heh you trust me that much huh?” he asked giving a playful smile. He was tiring to hide the fact that pen was tormenting him so much. “ you can not deign what I said. You think that you can trust him. Well remember the last time we tried that.” pen stated now. Pension just tried to ignore him. No he was not weaker then his other side. It was just that his other half had a terrible habit of constantly putting him down. For the most part whenever pension got upset his other half came out to protect him. But when his other half did not pension tried to avoid a fight all to geter. Now pension was walking down the stair . He looked at the other boy and smiled at him. For now he had at least one person who wanted to be around him.

"Heh, well yeah I do trust you and it's also because as long as I'm following that means I'm behind you and your other half can't turn on me so easily." So far it was easy going, but they hadn't really gone far yet. Aubri never really was the kind to be a leader, not that he was a follower, he was the kind that went along with good ideas and plans and refused the stupid ones. Unless it was his own idea, then he pretty much focused on it no matter what. That was how he found most of his friends, and his current lover.

Pension could see logic in what the boy was saying. It was just that if he was behind him and pen decide to come out with out warning then it would be hard for the boy to react to him either way. Pension looked around as they walked threw the long hall now. It amazed him slightly to think that some could build a castle like this so long ago. But then again there was more then likely a lot added on to this place as well. “ I do not blame you there. The good news is that he is just as happy complaining to me as he is attacking you for the moment.’’ pension said. He was tiring to assure the kid that his other side was under control for now. He knew though that that could change in an instant. He did not like to make plans himself. He knew that if he did his other side would do his best to tear them down or bend them to suite him. “ know what . I find it amazing that this place is so big. I guess the head master wants there to be a lot of room for every one .” stamen pension as he continued to walk down the hall.

"Heh, well if you end up needing a break from him insulting you he can have a few jabs at me. And if you're still in control then I won't even hear them so all the better." The gryphon was happy walking along behind Pension, smiling. He was more fun to be around than he wanted to admit. "Yeah, guess it's a good thing though. Aside from new students getting lost, I keep wondering why there aren't more directories in the halls or anything to help with that. Maybe he figures there's enough staff and friendly students to help out."

Pension smiled now. He knew that the boy had no way of knowing that his other half had already been making fun of him. If he was to ever let his other do anything it would let him know that he could do as he pleased. That just would not be a good idea at all. “ heh to tell you the truth he already has that one covered. Yeah I think it is. Hehe getting lost can be fun unless you is in a hurry. Humm maybe having a map or two around would not hurt though. Especially if the student is like super shy or something. “ pension said. He was starting to like the boy more and more as they talked. The boy seemed to be pretty laid back even with the knowledge that he could turn on him in an instant if his other half came out. Maybe that was why he was so easy to talk to. Most would want to avoid pension if his other half attacked them.

"Heh, kinda figured but wasn't sure on it. And half the time people are lost even when they think they know where they are. They know where they're standing sure, but do they know where they're supposed to be or where they're meant to be going? Sometimes ya just gotta start walking and find out, if you don't try to avoid it you'll stumble across your goal sooner or later. But you're right, for the shy students it's definitely useful to have a map." Yeah a little deep thinking but it just came out and it was fitting for what they were going to be doing.

Pension listened to the boy as he spoke. He was not sure what to think of what he just said. Pension was not really a deep thinker himself. He just took things the way that other said and never gave it a second thought. “ heh I never thought about that. That is how I find most of my goals. By randomly wondering back and forth. Of course that could be from the fact that I has always been a loner anyhow.” he said. He then stopped for a second to wipe his glasses off. He hated to have dust on them. When he took them off it reveled a pair a sunning icy blue eyes. He kind smiled at aburi and put his glasses back on his face. He was not sure if he noticed or not. really he did not care if he did as long as he did not make fun of him for it.

Aubri did notice his eyes, and wondered why he would keep them hidden. Eyes like that he could charm just about anybody if he needed to. Maybe he was embarrassed for some reason, or maybe it was something to do with the other side. Or another random thought. "Are those perscription lenses or just good shades?" Maybe an awkward question to ask but not totally out there. What else would they do while wandering around other than talk? Enjoy the scenery sure but in the castle halls it was the same view 90% of the time.

Pension smiled at the griffin as he commented about his sunglasses. He mostly wore his glasses so that no one would be able to see his dark half when he gave evil glares or made pension do so subconsciously . In deed though if he wanted to charm some one he could do it quiet easily. He smiled as he got ready to answer the boys question now. “ no they is just really go sunglasses . I were them for two reasons. One I want to be able to see in the light. And two my dark half tends to give evil looks even when he is not out.” pension said. He was not really bothered by the question. He had grown used to explaining to others why he wore sunglasses. Often they would just make fun of him and make his other half attack them. Then he just got in to trouble from there. Fortuneless it was usually the other student who was punished for pushing him in the first place.

"Heh, never thought about that really. Guess it makes perfect sense though. He'd probably try to stare a hole right through just about everyone you meet in a day huh?" The gryphon knew some people had more trouble with the sun and light than others. He even thought he heard something about a few of the bird species out there having more than usual, sometimes even worse than say a bat or a mole. Maybe he'd pick up a spare or two for Pension, just in case he ever happened to lose his or if they broke while he was around. Wouldn't hurt, and maybe he'd even start wearing a pair.

Pension listened as they boy spoke. He was not surprised to hear that the boy had not thought of his other half being able to do that. Most did not understand the capabilities of his other half. They did not know that if he did not keep him in check like he did then they would be in danger. He knew that if he was angry enough that his other half would kill someone . “ you is right about that. He aint one who likes to be kind to there unless there is a benefit . Even then though they is not gartered safety. “ he said. He happened to be one of the few who had trouble seeing in the light. It really was not just because of his breed. It was because he was knocked around a lot by his parents when he was just a little child. Then they threw him out. He would think that it was odd if aubri were to buy him new glasses. That would be due to the fact that he never got presents from other with out them wanting something in return. Not that he would mind buying aubri something. He just would not know what to get him.

"There's a lot of people out there like that though. Which is pretty bad considering just one nice thing can change a person's whole life sometimes. Guess it depends on how nice or generous the act is but sometimes even the thought helps." Oh how well he knew that. And he was friends with quite a few people that had their lives changed from simple little courtesies. One kid wound up becoming a great friend when he had been allowed to sleep indoors where Aubri had come from. The monks were generous and even gave him food, all the kid needed was a break. Turned out he was from a semi-wealthy family too... just hit some hard times.

Pension listened as they continued to walk down the hall. He was making sure not to go to fast. That was hard conceder his view of walk was almost running. Maybe that was because he tried to get away from his troubles. The problem with that was that his problem lived in his mind. He could heard his dark half taunting him again . “ you know I am just waiting for the moment to attack. There is no avoiding that.” pen said in his mind. He frowned and reasoned back. “ do not do that.” to his other half. He then gave a smile to the griffin. “ heh yeah they is. But I guess that what makes it the world interesting. Heh yeah that is very true.” pension said. He did not see his other side doing anything that was remotely kind unless he benefited. Then again he had kept his word so far and had not showed to attack yet. But he would that was certain.
