Drake laughed as he saw the teacher collapse to his knees. Maybe it was a little unfair to spring it on him like that but it was definitely entertaining. "Heh, don't worry about it. Come on you had to know it was safe, like I'd really risk hurting the new professor that I'm already doing so much to apologize for?" He glanced at his scales where the claws had been digging in, brushing them a little with his sleeve and buffing out the marks. Nothing too bad, didn't even really pierce through. "Take a look around though, now that you're down here. How do the gardens suit you? Rose section over that way, the central fountain right behind you, and everything generally well kept by a couple groundskeepers and a student."

Ren sighed and stood up, he spent a few moments digesting the experience and a few moments more placing his emotions back where they should be.

"just one student?" Ren finally said, plotting revenge in the back of his head. "which?"

He looked at the scenery around him, it was quite beautiful. Almost enough to wash him of his vengeful thoughts, but not quite.

"Yep, just the one student. His name is Verdegris, everyone calls him Verdy. You'd know him instantly if you saw him, young green dragon kid, generally looks kinda wimpy. Does good work though, don't know how he finds time for everything he does." Drake wondered why he wanted to know about the student, but shrugged it off. He was the new professor, he was bound to want to know about all sorts of things. And getting to know about the student body would have been high on Drake's own list. Come to think of it there were a lot of unique students around the school lately. "Shall we continue the tour if you've got your paws back under you again?"

"we can resume the tour now. Heh, are there any other notable students?" Ren looked into the garden and wondered if the student was here now. He didn't linger in the thought. In truth he only cared about his class and the students who would be in it, but knowing the student body would help him adjust.

"Where now?"

"Well let's see... there's one that should be coming in today later on, I have to sit down and interview him for a while as he's quite a special case. You'll notice him if you see him... and until I get to meet him that's the best I can say. Hmm, who else might be interesting? Aside from the unusually high concentration of dragons that is. Well, not much else on the students angle that comes to mind but a couple interesting teachers and their relatives. Come on, I'll show you around the first floor. Hungry?"

Ren nodded and motioned for Drake to continue the tour, the mention of a "special case interested him. What kind of student could be so different as to need to be interviewed by the headmaster? A murderer? No, he said that Ren would know if he saw him. It would have to be something physical. A Pegasus perhaps? No, they're always well behaved.

"What kind of food do they serve here? I'm hoping for more than generic lunch."

"Well our cafeteria staff's pretty amazing, you name it they've probably got it... and trust me I know. I'm the one that keeps signing the checks to keep them stocked. Great salads, probably about a hundred different kinds of sandwiches, pizza in several different styles. Heck if you want to and you get in early you can even tell them what toppings and they'll make it fresh. You'll definitely get better than a generic lunch. Of course no matter how good they are here, there's a place in town that's even better. The Foxford Restaurant, my sister's the owner and in charge of the kitchen." Drake led the way, hoping at least some of what he mentioned would be appealing to the new professor.

"Impressive. Your description reminds me of University, except we also had three Tim Hortons, and a subway on campus... With a restaurant and a few cafes scattered throughout." Ren thought a bit more on it. "and a starbucks in the Library."

Ren licked his lips. He was in the mood for a white mocha latte now.

"oh, after lunch might you show me to the Library?"

"Years and years ago we had more locations for food, but the janitors started throwing a fit at wrappers all over the place and cleaning up several kitchens. So all the food got pretty much condensed to one spot, aside from the juice bar. And the library can be our next stop if you like. And if you need something they don't have I'll be sure to get it for you." Drake was always rather accomodating. If he had a chance to help a student or a teacher he was always glad.

"Sounds like the Janitors are spoiled." Ren chuckled. "I just want to quickly familiarize myself with the layout, and as long as the complete works of shakespear, Strindberg and Lorca are in there I'll be happy... I'll have to check for Sophacles as well. Oedipus Wrex will be a good one to study, maybe perform."

Ren noticed that they were in the cafeteria.

"oh my... " He smiles as he flips through the menu. "I'm excited for food now. This is like a restaurant."

Drake nodded. "Yep, one big restaurant and a buffet style line if you just want something quick. That's usually what students go for though, something quick and easy they don't have to wait for. And, hmm... not sure if we have all of Lorca but if we don't I'll be sure we get it." Drake shrugged his shoulders. He was hungry now, and unless his new professor knew what he wanted the headmaster was about to head through the line and grab a pizza or two.

Ren flipped through the menu for a few more moments before settling.

"hi, I'd like a 9 oz steak, medium rare. A wedge of garlic bread and steamed vegetables. Thanks." Ren paid for the meal before placing his attention back on Drake. I don't really need the whole works, the most important play I The House of Bernarda Alba. That's the one we'll be studying. Might as well put that on too, all female cast though."

Ren turned on his heels and looked over the cafeteria, lots of students. Not one stood out in any way... Except a couple of students who clearly worked put a lot.

"I'll be at the table." Ren walked to the nearest table and sat.

That order wouldn't take them long but Drake didn't really want to bother the kitchen staff either. He grabbed a tray and the two whole pizzas, one of the staff giving him a knowing smile and pulling two fresh ones out of the oven to compensate for his big lunch. Grabbing a large pitcher of tea and a cup from across the counter he walked steadily over to the table and sat down with Ren. "Hmm, I think we do have those. And any productions you choose to put on should be fine. They'll have your food out in a minute, one of my favorite people is back there working on it right now."

"If it takes only a few minutes I might be worried about the quality of the food." Ren jokes as he idly taps the table, his eyes looking over the student body. Oh, there's a tall one, he thought to himself.

"hmm, if I might ask, who is the special case? I've been wondering about it since you mentioned him... Or her." Ren's left ear flicked, like it always did when he was interested in something.

"Oh don't worry about it. See, the secret's dragon fire. Cooks things a bit quicker without totally burning them. Crimson taught me that trick, my sister." Drake engulfed two or three slices worth of pizza in as many bites and smiled. "Oh, him? Well, it's rather interesting, see... he's actually three students at once. A hydra, three heads all with their own lesson plans and goals, their own personalities, but sharing a single body. You'd definitely know him if you saw him." It wasn't like he'd be that big of a secret. Once he was seen around it wouldn't be a big deal anymore either.
