Rose was blushing again. At this point she wished she could just hug Vixi and hold her close, give her a reassuring feeling she'd probably never had before. Why? She got the clear impression that the girl's parents hadn't given her enough attention or love once her younger sister came along, but had they ever hugged her? It made the dragoness briefly wonder if any of her kids ever felt like they got less love and attention than the others, but all of her kids and grandkids were leading productive lives. Maybe one or two did feel left out but they overcame those feelings in different ways than Vixi had. Regardless the dragoness wanted her to know she never needed to feel alone or unloved again... it was just hard to express that. Especially since she didn't want to go too far and do something that would upset her.

More then likely if the dragoness wanted to hug vixi she would not know how to react to it. After all she cared enough about Rose to push away any urges to hurt her. That did prove that there was not just evil in her heart. Deep down there was some good there. Rose was right in thinking that vixi was not very loved.. Even before her sister was born her parents never show love towards her. Sure they said it but they never bothered to show it. So vixi just pushed those kinds of feelings away and took all of her pain out on those around her. That was the best way she could handle it. It was not like anyone ever wanted to listin to her anyhow. Vixi smiled at rose now wondering what was on her mind. It was a perfect evening for now. Almost too good to be true. She quickly dis missed the thought. If she was dreaming then she did not want to wake up. She squeezed rose hand slightly now. No this was not just another dream this was real this time.

Yes, this was a wonderful day and the dragoness knew of only one or two ways it could possibly get better. When Vixi squeezed her hand a little she gave a gentle squeeze back. Something was definitely on her mind, something she wanted to say without ruining the moment. And there were so many ways it could be said. She was running over them in her head, trying to figure out how her friend would react to each of them. She could only really say one, she wanted to pick the perfect thing to say. She could try the indirect approach, or she could try the direct way. Maybe the less emotional choice of words, or the stronger ones... Slowly the dragoness turned toward Vixi a little, giving another reassuring squeeze with her hand and her tail, and pulling her wing a little closer around Vixi. "Vixi?" she said softly, pausing for just a moment. "I... really care about you." She felt a little weak. She'd almost said it, almost said she loved her. But right now she wasn't sure how that would be taken, whether her friend would see that as the love a parent should have given her years ago or if she'd see it as more of a direct thing.

Vixi gave a smile when she felt rose squeeze her hand back. Vixi was happy now. She had never had anyone as a friend much less anything else. If rose wanted to say something to her then vixi would listen to her. She more then likely would not know how to react to someone saying that they loved her. Her parents had never really said it to her. That was yet another reason she hated them. She stared quietly out at the land un aware of what rose had on her mind. She then felt her squeeze her hand and ankle with her tail again. She looked at her and smiled slightly as she felt the dragoness wing a little more against her now. It was obvious to her that rose wanted to say something important to her. She then heard her say that she really cared about her. “ I care about you as well rose. In fact you are the only one who wanted try and help me this much. “ she said . She had the feeling to rose had wanted to say something else to her. Something that was kind of embossing or something. Oh well she was not going to worry about it. Sooner or latter the dragoness would say it. Vixi did not blame her for being afraid of how she would react. What rose did not know was that vixi did not understand many emotions for the simple fact that she would try and forced them to go away. That and try to kill others to get rid of her rage.

"I'm glad. Someone should have cared a long time ago, a lot of people should have. You're special, it's a shame I'm the first one to really see that and want to encourage you." Yes, maybe Vixi's parents deserved the hate she had for them. If you had a kid and didn't care for her why have another and pour all your attention and love on that one? A child like Vixi wasn't just a practice run, she had feelings and needs too. Even if she was the only one, Rose cared about her.

Vixi smiled at rose words now. She was happy that rose cared about her. She had never had anyone do that for her before. She gave rose a strange look when she said that she was special. She was not sure how she was supposed to take that. She would just take it as a compliment for now. It was not like rose would go and insult her right. The thing was that her parents actually had two kids other then vixi. It was just that she did not know about him. If she did she would just hate him like she hated her sister. “ I thank you for that rose. I suppose that if they did I would not have turned to my killing habit. Then again I may not have met you either. “ she said . Vixi could feel her anger starting to grow now. She did not want to get mad though. It was just that the very thought of her parents made her angry. That is what happened when they hated her and ignored her like they did.

"The past is the past now, but I'm glad it led you to me." She could have said a lot more, about how she could consider this the first day of her new life without killing... or at least less killing. She could have said that as long as she was around things would be different, but she didn't want to seem like all she wanted was to change Vixi either. One step at a time, nothing too big right at the start. Heck who knows, maybe some day she'd even be able to go up to her parents and tell them off without having the urge to hurt them too.

Vixi tried to force her anger to go away for now. She did not want to get mad when she was trying to relax. She listing to rose now. Yes the past was past but for some the past was an ever haunting factor that made them vengeful and angry at anyone who brought the subject up. She tried to keep herself calm and relaxed though. “ “ I am glad it did as well madam. “ she said softly. She liked rose a lot and she did not want to hurt her . She now listened to the sound of the nocturnal creatures as they moved around the woods. She instinctively tensed up and glared waiting for any potential attackers.

Rose heard some of the sounds of the night and smiled, almost wanting to laugh. She saw Vixi's reaction and squeezed her hand again, hugging her with her wing a little more. "Don't worry about anything. Even the biggest of predators in the wild generally knows better than to come after a dragon." Even an older dragoness like her was still enough to spook them off. Well, all but the actual dragons but the one that technically called the mountains home was a nice one. They wouldn't be bothered up here.

Vixi listened to the sound of creatures walking near by. They unnerved her a lot to say the least. She hated that they bothered her that bad. Deep down she wanted to just kill them or scare them away. She knew that seemed stupid though. After all they were just doing their jobs. She was used to having to defend herself against everything that was around her. She tried not to show that though. She then felt rose squeeze her hand again. That was enough to make her kind of smile. Then when she hugger her with her wing vixi tried to smile. “ I see . You must understand that it is just hard for me to ever completely relax .” she said. Then she squeezed the dragoness hand back with a smile. Yes she would relax as long as rose kept assuring her. If anything did try though it would not live long enough to regret it that was for sue. She was trying to relax it was just that she was always nervous due to her past life.

"I know, and that's why I'm here with you. Get as close to completely relaxed as you can, and get a good night's rest. We can always go back to the house if you want." Though it wasn't a bad night, no dark clouds, no strong winds, it was about as close to pleasant as it could get right now. Sure the animals were hanging around but none of them would get too close. Vixi could take things easy for now, enjoy a friend's company, and a nice evening.

Vixi was actual about as relaxed as she could get right now. She smiled though at rose words. . She did not really sleep a whole lot in the first place. She more or less cat napped or slept very lightly. She had forced herself in to that habit so that nothing would sneak up on her at night. She knew that the dragon must have been getting tired though. That made her smile slightly for some strange reason. “ I thank you fore that madam. I am about as relaxed as I get though. You should get a good nights rest as well. I am happy out here if you are.” she said. That was true. It was a very nice night to be outside. It was just that vixi did not like creatures being close. She knew that she and rose were safe for now though.

"I'm happy if you are. So let's get a little sleep, and if you want anything at all I'll be right here. Just ask Vixi, even if it means waking me up I'm here for you." Sure the dragoness was starting to get a little tired, but dragons could sometimes go for over a week without sleep. Or at least... very little sleep, maybe two or three hours for that week. It'd be a serious problem if they tried to keep going like that every week but once in a while it was quite possible. Besides, she still gently had her wing around the girl and her tail curled around her ankle. She'd more than likely know if Vixi got up in the middle of the night.

Vixi gave a slight smile to rose now. She was happy for now. She rather enjoyed rose saying that she was there for her. She had not had anyone say that to her. She would not wake rose up though. If she had any problems she would just try to take care of it herself. That was just the kind of creature vixi was. Vixi moved her wings slightly so that they were folded down all the way. If she did not do that they would be in a cramp when she awoke. “ I am happy madam. You would know if I was not. Good night madam . Try to have a good sleep.” she said softly to rose. She did not have any reason to want to leave her new found friend. And to think all she wanted to do when she got away from prison was get revenge. So much for that plan though.

The dragoness was hoping to wait for Vixi to fall asleep first, but sleep soon overcame her. To her advantage dragons could manage to sleep just about anywhere though, and it wasn't too uncomfortable. She just hoped this was better to Vixi than what she was used to, hiding out in the wilderness alone with nobody to help her, running from both animals and from the law. The thought never crossed Rose's mind what she'd do if the law actually did come for the girl. All she could think of right now was keeping her friend happy and comfortable.
