Zeria was glad she had moved here from her old home. Here she could just hang about and enjoy her life without worrying too much about someone coming along and hunting her for whatever reason they could come up with. The mountains nearby provided excellent hiding spots and some of the best hunting, not to mention fun and adventure when it came to dealing with stranded hikers who really didn't know how to react to being saved by a large dragoness. Even better was the rather large lake, where she was now, that gave her plenty of room to not only bathe, but enjoy floating on the water like she did as a little one so long ago. Right at this moment, the red dragoness was covered completely by water, only her head floated on the surface, and even then it was only the top half of said head; the rest was under the water much like how alligators and crocodiles chilled out. Her purple eyes were trained on the shoreline in case any passers by were to come near enough the water to see her. Zeria did try to hide her head a bit though so as to not draw full attention to herself, though it only seemed to be making things more interesting for the birds that were landing on her every so often and it might just do the same for any one who decided a dip in the lake would be splendid right now. The red dragoness had found some floating moss, grasses and wood pieces and placed them on her red head and gray horns, in the hope of looking more like some small bunch of trash that had managed to gather in one spot, and kept her eyes half lidded to reduce the glowing effect. If she was honest with herself, Zeria thought she looked to be a discarded 'niffty flotation device' that someone had left in the weather and it gathered everything it came in contact with. Twice now she had lifted her head out of the water enough to catch a look at her refection and had to stifle a chuckle.
So far nothing but the birds and bugs seemed to come near her, though that might be because no one else was out here right now. Most were either in town -where Zeria desperately wanted to visited but knew better- or were at the school. Some students were near the playing field though as the sounds of some kind of sport or practice was currently emitting from that general direction. Bikes of the motor kind were zipping back and forth close by as well, but Zeria couldn't see them and had no way of knowing just how far away they were in relation to her spot. A splash close to her nose forced her to back peddle quickly, keeping her head down on the surface of the water but opening her mouth under it so that she could grab anything that moved toward her. Something swift bumped her teeth and the dragoness clamped down on it, pleasantly surprised to find a rather large fish had been the aggressor. With a quick toss of her tongue, Zeria threw the fish down her throat and swallowed it whole. 'Well that was a nice little snack, now what to do, what to do...'
Her feet brushed the bottom just barely, making her realize just how big this body of water really was, and she pushed forward with her powerful legs to start her moving. 'The driftwood' moved just fast enough to appear caught in a current from the windy day on the lake, but not so fast that it was abnormal. Though in Zeria's opinion it was much too slow. 'But I have to keep up appearances' she thought quickly, as a group of people suddenly made their way down to the spot she had been in an hour earlier, about twenty five yards from her current position. Thankfully she was moving away from them, but was closing in to a more populated - in her scouting runs over the week at least - area and was hoping dearly that if she was spotted as more than driftwood, it would be by friendly folk. More birds were circling the area of the shore Zeria was passing, it looked like someone had gone fishing and left the catch of the day just sitting there rotting. Some stuff was laying around as well, though it was mostly empty cans and paper things that were caught in the grasses and reeds on the water's edge. More voices were further ahead and the dragoness was starting to wonder if she would turn into a mushy mess covered in scales before she managed to find an empty spot to get out of the water; already she had been bathing and floating for over three hours.
