It didn't appear like much, but Tulia had it in her sights since she moved here. She stayed on the other side of the street for discretion and to see in any faults of security. Yes, she planned on getting in the nightclub.

Tulia had no ill intentions. She was just bored, and something inside her stirred. She wanted to dance underneath the darkness and forget about time. Forget about what moving always meant to her.

She was also curious. A town's true colors ironically can be exposed in the darkest of places. Tulia had no clue how long her mother planned on staying here, and she wanted to know everything she could about this place.

There just weren't too many ways to get into a club with an age limit without sleeping with the bouncer. Tulia grimaced at the mere thought. Gross...

A young peafowl was making his way up the street with a slight frown on his face. He had been having a pretty good day until his other half had decided to show up again. Now he was trying to find a place where he could allow his other half to come out safely. In order to keep peace pension had to let pen out once in a while. You see pen as his other half was called was a trouble maker by nature. Anything he could do to cause trouble for his other half he did without a second thought. Pen also had a nasty temper to go with his dark demeanor. Pension now sighed as he tried to put his other half out of his mind. He looked around the town seeing exactly where he was at right now. Hum he was near the local nightclub which was actually one of pen favorite haunts. Pension knew one thing about his other half. That was the fact that his other half pretty well did what he wanted and hardly ever got caught. And if he did he made pension take the blame for it.

Pension now stopped looking across the street at the club wondering if pen wanted to go to the club or what. He took a second to push his sunglasses up on his face as he looked around for a second to make sure no one saw him. That was when he spotted a female not to far from him now. He gave her a slight smile and looked back to the club. Hum well he could take some company in to the club with him. Providing that she wanted to go that is. He now heard his other half telling him that he should talk to the female if he was going to. Pension just nodded as he walked closer to the odd looking female. Oh she was pretty that was for sure. He now stopped a few steps away from her and smile at her . He then looked down at his feet. Pension was no good at talking to other . However he was going to try this time. “ hey.” he said softly to her as he glanced back at the nightclub again.

(No, I'm happy you did.)

Tulia turned towards the voice, instantly seeing a reflection of herself. Her eyes caught the abundance of bright color, and she vaguely thought of her mother and her mottled brown feathers. More than once had it been pointed out to Tulia that only the male peafowls had the vivid coloring, and she could never explain as to why she wasn't normal. Her mother provided no answers, only saying that she thought Tulia was beautiful. Then she remembered that the other peacock had spoken.

"Hello," she said, even though it sounded like a question, with her thick accent. She noticed that he looked towards the same nightclub she had been constructing a plan to sneak into. "You want go in there?" she asked in broken English.

In her mind, she saw him helping her get into the club with the intentions of having a hot date. She would dance with him and attempt a conversation until things began to get a little too flirtatious, and she'd sneak off into the crowd. She wasn't nervous at his presence nor expected him to hit on her at that moment. She just wanted to dance.

The male peafowl gave a slight smile when he saw the female look him over. He was sure to keep his eyes hidden under his sunglasses as he looked back at her. Pension did not like for others to see the color of his eyes. It was not that he did not like their color witch was sapphire blue it was just that if he showed them to others some of them had a bad habit of staring at them .that made him feel very uncomfortable when they did that . It had not occurred to him that the girl was oddly colored. You see pension had never paid that much attention to how others looked. Unlike his darker half he knew that it was what was on the inside that counted not what was on the outside. Though with him you would have to over look his other half to see how kind he was. Even now as he stood there he could hear pen mocking him and telling him to hurry up . Pen was in the mood for dancing and having fun not standing around talking. Pension frowned slightly and told pen to be patient for a few seconds before he turned his attention back to the female before him.



He then heard the female speak and gave a smile as he caught her odd accent. He had never heard an accent quiet like that. However as she would soon find out pension too had an odd way of speaking to others. It was something he had learned when as he raised himself on the streets until he was ten. He nodded now as he pushed his glasses up on his face again. “ yeah I was thinkin bout going in and dancing for a while. “ he said with a smile. His accent was the kind that you would hear in a big city like new York or brook land. He then looked at her and frowned feeling pen stirring again .“Yo wanna join me ? “ he asked her now. He figure that was the best way to invite her to go with him. After all his other half did want some company while they were in the club. Pension was not really that big of a flirt himself. Sure he thought girls were pretty and all but he was very awkward around them most of the time. Pension never was one who wanted to make others uncomfortable. Pen however could make other feel uncomfortable with his dark glares and hateful attitude towards others around him. Though right now if he did come out pen was not in a very bad mood. Though that could change at anytime. Pension now stood with a slight smile on his face waiting for the females response.

Tulia caught his smile and knew he was humored by her accent. She didn't know if she should have felt offended or not; she wasn't a side show. Figuring maybe she was just being too sensitive, she just shrugged it off. Besides, he hadn't said anything rude to her. Actually, he was being quite polite compared to some of the males Tulia had to deal with in the past. She wasn't sure to consider him a gentleman seeing he was asking her to a shifty club without getting to properly know her first, but it was a start.
Excitement fluttered in her stomach when the stranger asked if she'd join him. She smiled, the apples of her cheeks almost closing her eyes. "Da," she answered, "but I am underage. I don't think they let me in." She looked back at the club with a serious yet comical look on her face as she considered how to get in.

Pensions looked to the young female now. He really had not meant to offended her by smiling at her accent . Really to tell the truth he actually was trying to figure it out . Though sadly pensions awkwardness was often taken as being rude of even mean. however once others got to know him they would find that he was a pretty nice guy. Then if they stuck around him for even longer they would meet pen who was a troublemaker and very temperamental at times. Now he frowned again feeling pen stir. He got still and whispered softly to himself. “ alright my turn to be out for a while. Your just making us look like idiots.” his dark half whispered. Pension sighed looking at the female and mumbling back to his other half. “ take it easy Pen I will let you out latter I promise.” then he turned his attention back to her and kind of smiled at her once again . He was hoping that she had not heard his conversation with himself. Other wise he would have to explain his condition to her. That was never an easy thing for him to do.

He then saw her reaction to his question . He could see that she had made her very happy by asking her. You see pension was not really up to date on a lot of mannerisms. He pretty well just stated what was on his mind and that was it. Often that lead to him offending others. But when you raised yourself on the streets of a big city you miss a lot of things others learned when they were young. He now smiled when she said that she was under age . He was too though to tell the truth though he knew just how to get in to places like this without getting caught. “ yeah I is too but if yo promise not to tell anyone I will be showin you my secret entrance.” he said with a slight smile. He was trying to joke with her as he spoke. He just hoped she would not take it the wrong way. Then something else came to pensions mind. He had not told the female his name. he looked to her now and said. “ I is sorry I forgot to tell yo my name. I is pension.” he said with a smile. Now he knew that the female knew how address him if she wanted to.

Listening more closely to his voice, Tulia figured they both had peculiar accents. Neither had room to judge, which made her feel better. She nodded vigorously when he mentioned a secret entrance, and it almost felt like it was becoming an adventure. Her excitement caused her to miss the hushed conversation the male was having with himself.

"I is Pension." At the sound of his name, Tulia was overcome with thoughtfulness. She tried the sound of it in her head a few times before deciding she liked it. For formality's sake, she introduced herself, "And, my name Tulia. Pleasure meeting you."

Looking back to the club, Tulia was ready to get this party started. "Alright," she said, "what is plan?" Obviously the young girl didn't want to waste any time, and her excitement was escaping her as she began to sway back and forth or slightly bouncing. Her tail feathers danced along with her creating a majestic blur of color. In such a short amount of time, Tulia lost all reserves with Pension and started unleashing her bubbly, out there personality, slowly but surely.

Pension smiled as he saw her nod to his words. He could see that she was the kind who was excitable over certain things. Pension smiled thinking of when he used to be like that. Before he was forced to care for himself because his parents no longer wanted him around. That was when he slowly started to hide his emotions to make himself seem more intimidating to others around him. Though in doing that he had made pen come out more and more. Until finally he learned how to control him at least half way. He now looked at her as he heard her say her name. Hum that was a pretty name that was for sure. He then pushed his glasses up again and said to her. “ ahh that’s a pretty name. I is happy to be meeting you as well.” he said with a slight smile on his face. He then heard pen say that he should really not flirt with ladies that were younger then him. Pension just sighed . He was not flirting merely complementing her name.

Pension now smiled at the female as she asked him what his plan was. He saw her dancing about like a excited young kid. It made him wonder very slightly just how young she was. Though he did not ponder the thought for very long. He always kept his own tail feather up high enough where they did not drag the ground very much. He was glad that she seemed to relax a bit more now. It meant that he was not giving her any bad vibes yet. Which in his mind was always a good thing. See pen often was the reason most only wanted to meet the boy one . And he may make this female feel the same way if he decided to take over . Witch could be at anytime.

He looked around to make certain that there was no one around that could hear him talking. He then looked to her and said “ well I know a back entrance where they aint no security . Then once we is in all we has to do is keep a low profile and blend in with the crowd. See them guards cant tell who is who when everyone is moving around dancing and all.” When he was done talking he smiled and looked at her. Pension had entered the club this way many times before. He was smart enough to know every trick the bouncers had when it came to finding people who were underage. He also knew that it was almost impossible for them to know just who everyone was when they entered the bar. And he would try to show these tricks to this female here if she was willing to learn them from him.

If there was anything impressive to people about Tulia, it would be her name. She got more compliments on it than anything else, so it didn't surprise her that Pension had given her praise. Nonetheless, she gave a quick thank you before going back to her impatient excitement. After a short pause, Pension told her of the back entrance.

"I follow right behind you," Tulia told him. She intently looked into his sunglasses hoping to make some kind of eye contact even though she couldn't see past the tint. She noticed his slight smile and couldn't help but smile back. She had a feeling that Pension was a quiet outcast, and she knew all too well what that was like. So, there was some connection then she thought and left it at that.

Pension gave a slight smile when he her say thank you. He simply nodded before he told her about his secret entrance. He smiled when he heard her say that she would follow him. He also saw her trying to make eye contact with him. He had seen many around him try to do this actually. Some did it because the wanted to see what color his eyes were. Other wanted to see his mood. When they would do this though he would just smile more. He smiled to Tulia and said “ okay that’s cool with me. He looked at Tulia now and lowed his glasses to where she could see his sapphire blue eyes . After giving her a few seconds to get a look at them he pushed his glasses back up an look towards the club. “ alright come one .” he said motioning for her to cross the street with him . He was sure to keep his pace slow and even to where the female could keep up with him. He was also sure to watch the security guard at the front of the club to make sure he did not see him and her going towards the club. Other wise he might figure out what they were doing.

After he got across the street he went around to the back of the club and stopped to see if she was behind him still . As he did this he felt his dark half stir again. Pen now wanted control . Pension sighed and knew he did not have a choice . He had to allow pen to come out now. She stood perfectly still as he felt the dark presence take over his mind. Now pen was in complete control. He stood by the back door of the nightclub and smiled evilly . It seemed that this female was hoping to meet his more sinister half today. Good thing pen was in a good mood. “ and now here is our secret entrance.” he said in a darker more sinister voice. There could be a few things that the two shared in common. However pension just tried to blend in and overlook the differences of others around him. Creature were creature nothing more nothing less in pensions mind. Pen however was not like that . If he was in a nasty enough mood he often picked at others who were not like him.This was they way that most figured out that pension had something wrong with him. the sudden shift in actions and moods,

It was a quick and simple movement, but Tulia caught the blueness of Pension's eyes as he dipped his sunglasses down before positioning them back in place. Her own eyes were blue as well, so she just kept adding up the similarities. "Alright come on," Pension said before taking off. She followed just like she said she would, careful to not catch the bouncer's attention as they snuck past.

As they reached to what Tulia suspected was the entrance, she noticed Pension pause while his body seemed to shiver. When he spoke, she slightly heard a change in his voice and demeanor. Linking it to just adrenaline and excitement, she chose to ignore it and nodded. She peered over her shoulder to make sure no one had followed them before turning back to Pension (or Pen) waiting to follow him in.

Pen was happy to see that the female peafowl was able to keep up with his lighter half. It meant that he did not have to wait very long for her to arrive. Pen did not have very much patients when it came to waiting on others of for thing he wanted . Right now he was ready to relax and have some fun . and to make things better this time he would have some company. He smiled to her when he saw her nod. Then he turned to the door . “ alright now as long as they don’t have this thing locked we should be able to get in. an I highly doubt that those fools would think of locking the door after all of this time.” he said to her. Along with his voice being darker and more sinister he also spoke more clearly and with more confidence then pension. The reason for this was that pen was not afraid of taking risks unlike his other half. That was the reason that pen was often in trouble while pension steered clear of trouble all together. He now pulled the door open with a little bit of effort as it seemed to be a little bit stuck. He figured that was because the door was not used very often . “ alright now we are can go inside. “ he said. He took a step in and held the door open for the female. After all he wanted to show her that he did have a few manners. Even if he did not bother to use them very often. “ Hehe ladies first “ he stated with a slight smile as he waited for her to walk inside the club. He was ready now to dance and relax a little bit.

In her travels, Tulia knew people could disguise themselves. Not just outwardly appearances, but their personality flaws. Darker secrets that they'd rather keep away from the public, tucked away somewhere. But whatever Tulia was seeing before her wasn't that. She saw the change and felt the difference.

The air seemed thicker with some sort of tension that wasn't there just a few short seconds ago. It had shifted so easily that she almost missed it. But this wasn't the same person she just met. She wasn't sure this was even Pension. If that even his name, she thought warily. Nonetheless, she kept her cool as she walked into the open door.

Whoever this new character was, he didn't seem to have any intentions of harming her. Not yet anyway, which time was all she needed. Tulia wasn't some naive, little girl. She had experienced dangerous situations that required some skill and strategy to survive. Maybe she was too young to know these things, but it didn't stop the world from abusing her anyway. Whatever the outcome she'd be able to protect herself.

Once in the club, the pounding hum from outside became a deafening bass instantly. The floor shook from the speakers and dancing bodies. The atmosphere turned heavy, musky, and dark with heat and smoke. The smell of sweat and alcohol rushed into her beak. It was your typical sketchy nightclub. Tulia wasn't phased by the sudden activity. She simple looked around at the occupants wondering their stories. But most importantly, she was looking for a spot to call her own and dance totally unaware where Pension was at the moment.

Pen watched the female as she went in to the club. He then tuned and shut the door behind her so that no one would know that they had come inside that way. After all he did not wish to be caught sneaking in to the nightclub. There was a reason that his other half had not warned her of pen. He thought that if he brought something like that up she would think that he was crazy. And that was not the case. Pension had what most would call multiple personality disorder. That meant that he had more then one persona. Most ran away from those like him thinking that they were unstable. So pension just kept quiet about pen unless he had ill intentions. See unlike most with his condition he knew of the other persona and knew just how he felt and what he was thinking . Though this meant that pen too knew what pension was thinking and feeling. That was not a good thing considering that pen made it his personal goal in life to be the opposite of pen. By any means necessary.



Pen now smiled slightly at the female as he watched her for a few seconds. He was not in the right mood to hurt her right now. All he wanted to do was have a bit of fun and head back to his dorm. He knew full well that she could lose him in the nightclub at anytime. He figured if she did that meant that she did not want much to do with him. A thought then crossed his mind . She could have just when with him so that he could get in to the club. Though if that was the case he would not say much about it. After all pen just wanted to have fun right now not stalk some female. He now shook his thought away from his head as he walked forward in the club. It was hard to see with his sunglasses on though. He frowned as he took them off and stuck them in to his pocket for latter on when he went outside.



He smiled now as he walked behind the female as she stood there looking for a spot to go perhaps . He really could not be sure of what she was doing. The club was just as crowed as it usually was this time of day. That just meant that they had less of a chance of being caught. He looked at her with a slight smile. “ hehe the place is still just as crowed during day as it is at night. If you still want to dance with me there is a spot over here.” he said with a slight smile. His voice was slightly less sinister this time . He was trying to assure her that he was not going to hurt her. He then smiled at her as he though carefully about his next statement. He needed to tell her about himself he supposed. So he started to walk to a part of the club that was not crowed. He looked to see if she was following. If she was she would have heard what he had to say next. “ I think that I should let you in on a secret of mine. I have a little condition that you should know about if you are going to be around me. I am pen pensions other persona. His evil persona some say. Though really I am not all that evil. Now do not be alarmed I mean you no harm. I just have to come out every once in a while .” he said with a very serious look on his face. He did not know what her reaction would be. He just hoped that she would understand why he was acting so strangely. Though he figured that she would either be frightened , fascinated ,or maybe something in between the two. Either way as long as she did not make a big scene he would respect her reaction to such news.

Tulia could feel Pension behind her, so she turned to face him seeing that he was motioning to a spot nearby. She couldn't clearly hear what he was saying, so she assumed it was where they would be dancing. Only nodding she began to follow him until he turned to her this time, face completely solemn, and started to say something.

She understood it must have been important but with the booming music and conversation she couldn't hear everything Pension said. All she was able to pick out with "secret", "condition", "Pen", "evil" and "harm". Confusion took over her pretty face, which probably would've happened even if she had heard Pension because she had never heard of multiple personal disorder or what it really meant. All that she was able to gather was that maybe Pension wanted her to call him Pen for short.

"Pen," she stated firmly, searching Pension's face for approval. She hoped she didn't seem rude, and that Pension would think she understood and the issue could be dropped. All she wanted was to dance the rest of the evening away then sneak home back into the bed she and her mother shared.
