"Heh, well when we get back to the school I'll definitely ask around and see if I can find out what the heck this path is doing all the way out here. I know the right people to ask about it, one of them will have an answer. And if not well then I guess we can sort of claim it as our own new path, heh. What a trip if that happens, finding a few hidden gemstones and a brand new way up and down the mountain." Drake, Blake, Verdy, Rook, and Crimson would be the ones to ask. At least he knew the best places and people to get information from. The snake smiled, now they were almost halfway down the path and still no trouble, but if anything was here Claws probably had the right idea.

The falcon gave a slight smile when he heard the snake speaking now. He did not really want to know what made this path himself. He was certain that whoever did it was either long gone or they were off someplace else for the time being. Either way he was sure that they were prepared for whatever would come their way. The falcon now looked around st scenery as the got more in to the woods. He loved to look at all the various trees and things that grew in the forest. To tell the truth he had almost forgotten about the gems witch were still in his pocket. That was the thing about claws. He was very easily distracted by certain things.” alright….. That….. Sounds……… good. ………Yeah …….well …….that’s…….. helpful……. Then……..heh ……that ……..would …….be…….. kind of……. cool…….. It …….would …….make ……for …..a ……great…… trip……. that ………is …….for…….. sure.” he said with a smile on his face. Claws was actually very modest and was not one who wanted to be remembered gor doing things. Though he could deal with it should it ever happen he just did not like all the attention.

"Yeah, though unfortunately I kind of doubt too many people would ever take advantage of this path even if they did hear about it. Most of the ones around here that'd actually make a trip into the mountains have wings, heh. So they'd probably just fly up here on their own or something, but it's always good to know especially if there's nasty winds or something that'd keep them from using their wings." And if he ever got ambitious enough he'd probably have one of the dragons come up here with him carrying a bunch of equipment so he could try and find a trace of the hydra or whatever else made the path. Now that they were finally back down into the woods and nothing had surprised them he was pretty sure it could be considered completely abandoned but the snake had a sort of compulsion to answer unanswered questions. Even when he was the only one interested in finding a solution, he'd still find it.

The falcon just dort of smiled as the snake spoke. He was sure that if he was exploring up here alone he would have used his wings to fly up here. However the falcon knew that when you used fight to get to places you could end up missing some very interesting details . That was why the falcon had become a fan of both walking and flying. That was not to say that he was not better on the ground though. He like most of his breed was a very skilled flyer.” yeah…… probably…… not. …….There ……are not…….. many …….who …….like …….to …..tread…… in…….. this ……..sort of ……..area…….. A…… lot ……of them……… are …..scared……… that…… they…….. might …….get …….lost…… or ……attacked…….. He was glad that they had not ran in to any trouble yet. He figure that whatever made the path was either gone or not in the area right now. Either way was good with him.

"So what exactly do you usually do in the evenings if you're not out hiking or doing homework? Or I guess the more interesting question would be what do you do when you're out in the woods and it gets dark?" They didn't have to worry about that tonight but it was a good question. He wanted to know just how much of a survivalist Claws might be, see if he knew not only how to make it during the day but at night time too. It was possible he'd just never been in an area with predators that would have bothered him, or maybe he knew the ways to avoid them or keep them at bay during the night.

The falcon gave the snake a slight smile when he asked his questions. He had actually been out in the woods at night before. He just did not like it very well do to the wildlife. Though as far as what he did at night he really did not do much of anything except read and write. That was usually because he was not all that interested in doing what the other kids did and all. “ well….. I….. usually….. Either ….read …..or…..write……. Nothing…..much….beyond……that…..

Place………… to make………… camp , build……… a fire. ………..And if …………I …………have ……….time……… I ……..find ……..food. ……..Fire though……… tends……… to……. Come……… first……….. Since……….. It …………keep ……….the……… critter………… away.” the falcon said. He did have to wonder what would make the snake ask such a question. Maybe he just wanted to know how smart he was when it came to that sort of thing? Well if that was the case then he would find that claws was actually very smart when it came to survival courses. After all it was the only kind of life he had ever known. Though he did have basic knowledge he was still learning more with each little experience he had. That is what made him want to keep on traveling.

At least the falcon had some sense when it came to surviving in the woods, and Athos could believe what he said. He hadn't really been sure until now that he'd been wandering so much and surviving on his own, but he gave the right answer for surviving at night. A fire always came first, luxuries came second to protection even if that meant food would have to wait until morning. Now had he just been getting lucky with making fires and never burned anything down or did he know how to properly make them? Not that he'd find out today, the school was less than an hour away by his count and they'd easily make it before the sun went down. "Nice, do you write anything specific or just whatever comes to mind?"

The falcon did not really have a reason to have to exaggerated anything he said to the snake. He did not see a point in trying to impress others. He figured that if he could not impress anyone with who he truly was then he did not need to impress them. He was really just the strange shy guy who avoided others most of the time. Claws had learned how to make fires with a lot of practice. He also always put several rocks around the place that he wanted to put his fire so that the flames would not spread all over the whole forest. Not only would that put the creatures and plants in danger but it could also put other creatures in danger. If there was one thing that he was it was careful. “ heh…. Well…I …….mostly……. Write…….. Poems……… and ………..little………. Short ………story. ………..Other……… then…….. That ……..I ……write ……..poem…… my thought ………and …….feeling and …….what ………I ……..did…….. that day.” he said with a slight smile on his beak. He wrote mostly late in the evenings when he had nothing better to do. That and the fact that writing seemed to relax him abit. He really liked to write because it made him feel better after he did. He now smiled knowing that the snake was trying to find to more about him. Well that was fined everyone needed to find out about other around then if they liked them.

"Sounds nice. Gives you plenty to write about I'm sure. Never been much for writing myself though, kind of makes it odd to be a teacher, heh, but I focus moreover on projects and such than reading and writing papers for my classes so it works out." The falcon was certainly interesting as far as Athos was concerned. Nice quiet personality, knew how to handle himself in the woods, the snake definitely wanted to keep him as a friend for a good while. "Hey if you ever want to hang out I can always make free time, or if you want to chat or anything."

The falcon smiled to the snake now. He always had a lot to write about on most days. Though like most others there were days when he could not think of anything he wanted to write about. That was when he went to sleep of did home work or something like that. Sometimes he just sat alone in silence thinking about all of the things that had went on in his life. “ yeah…..it….
Dose…. Heh……. yeah…… writing …….is ……..not …….for……… everyone. ……..It sounds like…….. you…….. have….. a …….very…… interesting ……..class …….going ……on.” he said with a slight smile. Claws hated those classes that gave the students a lot of papers and books to read though he could rotate them if he had to. What the snake said next kind of took the snake by surprise. He had not expected him to invite him to hang out with him sometime. Though the falcon knew that he would not mind it in the least. “ oh….. Really………. Alright………. I will remember……… that……. It ……is……… always…… nice…… to……. know ……that….. I ………have ……a ………friend ………to……… count ……..on” claws said with a smile. He was quiet honored that the snake thought that way of him. And of course the falcon thought that way of the snake as well. And if the snake ever need him the falcon would try to be there to help him.

"Thanks, I try to keep it interesting. And I hope since I'll always be there for you when you need me that I'll be able to ask you if I ever need a bit of assistance?" He didn't want to put too much pressure on the falcon but if he didn't at least mention it he'd feel like it was becoming too much of a one way street. Friends helped one another, one friend didn't just do everything and never get something in return right? Well, ok, sometimes it was sort of like that but they'd at least get thanks and such.

The falcon just gave the snake a smile as he spoke. Of course the snake would be able to count on him when he need him. Claws was not the sort who would use others and not expect to have to do something for them in retune. That was just not how the falcon functioned. He wanted to make those around him happy just as they made him feel happy.” heh…….. That…… is…… good…… Oh…… yeah….. if …….you……. ever ……need ……anything…… just…. come….. ….and ….ask…… me …….or …….something…… I….. will…. always ……be ……there …..to……. help …..you……. as……. long…… as….. I …..am ….able.” the falcon said with a slight smile. Though he would try not to ask the snake to help him with much because he would feel like it was not the snakes place to do such a thing. You see the falcon did not really like to feel like a burden to others. of course the falcon would never care to help others if he ever needed to.

"Sure. Heh, let's hope neither of us needs the other for anything desperate for a while though. Start off with smaller things like homework help or something." Most of the way through the woods now, the trip back was going a lot quicker than he'd expected but maybe that was just because he had someone to talk to. This would probably be one of the things he'd ask for from the falcon, another walk through the woods or the mountains. "Heh, well I know exactly where we are now and exactly what's in the surrounding area."

The falcon smiled now at the snakes statement for he could not agree more with what he said. The two had only met a couple of hours ago. So it was only right that they had gotten to know each other before they asked anything major of one another. At least the falcon had always though that was the way it worked in a friendship though he knew that he could be wrong.” I ……….agree …..with …..you …..completely……. Small….. things…… are ……always ……the….. best……. things….. to…….ask ……at ……first…….. anyhow.” he said with a slight smile. He now looked around the woods as they walked. He knew that he would have to come back here several more times. And if he did he now had someone he could invite to go with him. he now gave the snake as smile as he made his statement. Claws knew that they were close to the school but had never really paid much attention to the paths he was on. You see the falcon was quiet found of finding new ways to get back to the school.” that….. Is…… good. ……We……. Do….. not…….. Have ……..to …….worry……. Much …..here.” the falcon said with a smile as he continued to walk behind the snake.

Athos only knew their current location because he was sort of cheating. Out of the corner of his eye he caught a glimpse of one of the many cameras he'd set up out here, a motion and heat sensitive one that would turn on anytime someone was in the area. He had them out here for a few reasons, to see if students were sneaking out to the woods for anything, to keep an eye out for intruders that didn't belong, and hoping to never see a big feral dragon or anything in the camera's line of sight. It also helped him keep track of local wildlife so he could roughly estimate how many deer, boar, rabbits and other little animals were lurking around the woods. Maybe he'd eventually ask Claws for help in setting a few more of these up further out from the school or if he ever had one break. So far it hadn't been a problem but it was bound to happen eventually. "Nope, nothing to worry about here. This is one of the safest parts of these woods."
